• Starting the Game
  • Select the white play button to load the welcome screen.
  • Select the play button on the welcome screen to begin.
  • A cutscene will play establishing the premise of the game.

    • Use the left and right arrow keys to move.
    • Use the Z key to change characters
    • Use the C key to do the following:
      • Skip cutscenes
      • Activate devices
      • Use the camera

    • Although this game might load on touchscreen devices, its controls were optimized for desktops with keyboards.
• Game Play
  • Level selection
    • Levels are unlocked in sequence. Only the first one, Banana Joe, is playable at the start of the game.
      • After you beat the Banana Joe stages and take a picture of Banana Joe you unlock Tobias.
      • After you beat the Tobias stages and take a picture of Tobias you unlock Carrie.
      • After you beat the Carrie stages and take a picture of Carrie you unlock Alan.
      • After you beat the Alan stages and take a picture of Alan you unlock Sarah.
      • After you beat the Sarah stages and take a picture of Sarah you unlock Teacher.
      • Teacher is the last level. When you complete the Teacher stages you can look through the photograph album.
    • There are 6 levels in this game.
      • Each level is divided into 4 stages, for a total of 24 stages.
      • Complete all stages to win the level.
    • Each level starts with a cutscene.
      • Use the C key to skip the cutscene.
      • We recommend letting the cutscene play the first time you load the stage to get a basic idea of what to expect.
  • Basic rules
    • Play as both Gumball and Darwin.
      • Only Darwin can use the camera. The camera is used to take photos at the end of stages & can be used to stun monsters.
      • Darwin can use pipes to reach isolated parts of the map.
      • Only Gumball is strong enough to lift boxes.
      • Gumball can jump higher than Darwin.
    • Switch between characters as needed.
    • Reach the end of the level door with both characters to clear it.
  • Activating switches
    • Switches are a crucial part of the game.
      • Some switches open doors.
      • Other switches activate platforms.
      • All switches are color coded and activate the platform or door of their color.
    • Switches come in two flavors: levels and buttons.
      • Lever switches stay activated once flipped.
      • Button switches must be stepped on to remain active.
        • You can either step on the button, have an enemy stand on it, or drop a box on it to activate the button.
        • You can sometimes find more than 1 button switch in a level. They will activate the same thing.
        • On many levels you need to take a picture of an enemy to have them dazed by the flash while they stand on a button.
  • Dealing with enemies
    • Most enemies stay on a particular platform.
      • Gumball and Darwin can jump over boxes that most (though not all) enemies can not.
      • Lucy Simian and the giant pink teddy bear can jump over boxes. Lucy Simian can also go through some doors.
    • As Darwin, you can use the camera to daze most of your foes.
      • Before you can daze characters, you must first acquire the camera.
      • Most, but not all, foes can be dazed. The giant foot enemy can not.
      • Once dazed, a foe will not be able to attack you. You can easily move past them as long as they’re dazed.
      • A dazed foe is only in that state for a little while. Make the most of it. There is a pie graph above them showing how much time the daze state has left.
    • You can sometimes use dazed foes to activate buttons.
  • Endgame
    • At the 4th stage of a level, you must take a photo of one of Gumball’s and Darwin’s classmates.
    • Reach the end of the stage to meet up with the character in question.
    • As Darwin, take a picture of the classmate to finish the level.
