American Euchre Card Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the blue and white Play button on the game’s welcome page, then select the yellow Start button on the table to deal the first hand.
  • The welcome page also offers buttons for help, high scores, and more games.
  • The bottom left corner of the welcome screen has a language select dropdown while the bottom right has 2 buttons for social sharing and reading developer information.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select if you want to make trump on the deal, which suit you would like to make trump if nobody makes trump on the deal, and to select the cards you would like to play.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with your finger to use it like a mouse.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The current score is shown in the lower left corner of the screen.
    • The dealer for each hand has the word Dealer above their face.
    • The upper left corner has buttons to pause the game & switch to full screen mode.
    • The upper right corner has buttons for sound control & music control.
• Game Play
  • Calling trump
    • The dealer of each hand has the word Dealer above them throughout the deal.
    • If you order up the first card shown the dealer will obtain that card as part of their hand.
      • If you make trump or someone else orders up a card to you it can be beneficial to throw away a card which limits the number of suits you are holding.
    • If nobody orders up the dealer then players get a chance to name which suit they would like to make as trump. Players can choose any suit other than the one which was turned down on the deal.
      • If nobody chooses a trump suit the hand is redealt anew with new cards.
    • In general you should presume that your partner can get at least 1 hand while hoping to take 2 yourself.
    • In some games computer players are rather aggressive at calling trump. In this game the computer players are not too aggressive with calling trump.
  • Card order
    • For suits which are not trump the order is A-K-Q-J-10-9.
    • For suits which are trump the Jack of that suit & the other Jack of the same color are the most powerful cards, then the remaining cards are in the same order as above.
      • If Clubs were Trump the Jack of Clubs would be the right bower & the Jack of Spades would be the left bower.
      • The card order for Clubs as trump would be Jack of Clubs, Jack of Spades, then A-K-Q-10-9 of clubs.
      • Trump suit beats any card from any other suits.
  • Playing hands
    • Players must follow the suit which is led if they are holding that suit in their hand.
    • If your partner makes trump and you have a chance to lay it you typically would want to in most cases.
  • Games
    • You score 1 point for calling trump and making 3 or 4 tricks.
    • You score 2 points for calling trump and making 5 tricks.
    • You score 2 points for getting at least 3 tricks when your opposing team called trump.
    • If you play alone you score 4 points instead of 2 if you wan all 5 tricks.
    • Games last until one team makes it to 10 points.
