Apple & Onion Cat Rescue Cross the Road Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Click on the red and white button at the bottom center of the screen to start the game.
    • This will play a cut scene of a cat stuck on the wrong side of the road. You then get to select Apple or Onion.
    • You don’t actually control Apple or Onion in this game, but move the cat. You are only selecting who the cat will run across traffic to get to.
    • After selecting a character the game begins and you are the cat.
  • The game’s welcome screen also has a how to play button in the upper left corner and a sound control button in the upper right corner.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Left click your mouse to have the cat move forward a lane.
    • You can not move backward.
    • You can not move left or right other than as a vehicle carries you.
  • Touchscreen
    • Tap your finger to use it like a mouse.
• Strategy
  • Initially the road only has 2 lanes and the cars move slowly, but over time the road widens and the cars move much faster. There are a dozen lanes in the tenth and final level.
    • Consider the relative motion and speed of both vehicles when you jump.
    • If vehicles are moving fast try to aim for the center of the vehicle in case you miss a bit you still land it.
    • If vehicles are moving slowly and there is not a vehicle in the subsequent lane (e.g. the jump after this one) then it can be best to aim for the back of a vehicle to give yourself more time before you would move off screen.
    • If you are near the starting edge of a lane and have plenty of time it can make sense to wait until you are closer to the far edge of the screen to jump to the next lane so you have more time to make the subsequent jump.
  • If you are about to be carried off screen jump just in case a vehicle is coming in the next lane.
  • It does not matter where you land on the final jump on the other side of the road.
  • Dying
    • If you touch the road the game ends.
    • If you are carried off screen by a vehicle the game ends.
    • You can replay the current level again with an unlimited number of continues.
• Target Audience
  • This is a fun game for Apple & Onion fans of all ages.
  • There are no adult themes in this game, though it does make sense to tell younger kids not to play in traffic and that doing so in real life is dangerous.
