Arthur’s Park Building Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the play button on the lower right corner of the welcome screen to begin.

    • Your main goal is to earn stars to buy items when it’s time to build and decorate the park.
    • The early part of the game is divided between various minigames and a board game style preparation mode.
      • In preparation mode, roll a dice to move forward by one space.
        • Select the die on the upper right corner to roll. The number of spaces you move depends on the result of the roll.
          • Land on a good day card or a helping others card will give you an extra star.
          • You can also collect donations when you land on a space with an object.
          • Watch out for bad days, which can cost you stars.
        • Unlike in other board games, you don’t move backwards when you exceed the exact number of spaces to get to the end point.
      • Earning donations eliminates the need to buy the items later.
  • Drum up support
    • Go through preparation mode to prepare for the speech.
    • During the speech itself, select the correct words to encourage donors to support the park.
      • Pick the right words that match what Arthur is trying to say.
      • The more correct choices you make, the more stars the people will donate.
      • Remember to use context clues to figure out the best word to say in the speech.
  • Clean up the park
    • Pick up the trash and put them in the recycling bin to get the lot ready for the park.
  • Hold the bake sale
    • Go through preparation mode to get everything ready for the bake sale.
    • For the bake sale, match the orders to the exact sequence mentioned by the customers.
      • The order must be correct for the customer to be satisfied with it.
      • Collect enough orders
  • Buy items
    • With the stars you’ve earned, buy as many items as you can.
    • Items come in 3 tiers, based on cost.
      • Plants cost 1 star each.
      • Park furniture and fixtures cost 2 stars.
      • Playground equipment and larger park items cost 3 stars.
    • When you buy or acquire an item through a donation, you can put multiple copies of the same thing.
      • This is good for creating a forested or planted park.
  • Build the park
    • Decorate the lot with the items you bought to create a picturesque park.
    • Only the items you’ve acquired through stars or donations will appear, plus the residents of Elwood City.
    • When you’re finished building the park, select “done” on the lower right corner of the screen.
      • This will take a snapshot of your park on the newspaper.
      • Select the play again button on the lower right corner to return you to the welcome screen and start all over.
