Basketball Challenge Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your high score.
    • Your latest high score is shown on the bottom center of the welcome screen.
• Game Controls

    • With your mouse, left click and drag to aim and charge your ball. Release to shoot.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap and swipe on the screen with your fingers to aim and charge. Release to shoot.
  • Controls and indicators (top row, left to right):
    • Home button: Exits the game and returns you to the welcome screen.
    • Reset button: Restarts the game

  • Basic rules
    • Left click or tap anywhere to place the ball.
      • Hold and drag to aim and charge the ball.
      • Make sure to aim for the platform.
      • Release to shoot the ball.
    • The ball must bounce off the platform to count as a successful shot.
    • You start with 15 balls.
      • After each shot, the platform randomly changes positions.
      • Keep shooting until you run out of balls.
  • Scoring
    • Each successful shot is worth 100 points.
    • Each time the ball hits the backboard or the ring, you lose 5 points.
    • You receive a multiplier bonus for every shot you make.
      • If you make another successful shot, you gain the multiplier bonus.
      • e.g. if you earn 85 points from a shot while the bonus is active, you’ll receive an extra 85 points as a bonus.
      • Each shot you make in a row adds to the bonus multiplier.
      • The bonus disappears if you miss.
  • Tips
    • If you get off to a bad start consider using the game reset button & try again.
    • Try to keep the bonus multiplier going for as long as possible to maximize your score.
    • If the plank is on the right side of the screen you can also start your shot on the right side of the screen. The less distance the ball needs to move the less precise you need to be to make a basket.
    • In general the backboard is quite stiff in this game, so it is best to aim at hitting the front of the rim or try to make your shots straight in. If the ball hits the backboard after hitting the basket you’ll usually make the shot, but most shots which hit the backboard first go long past the rim after bouncing off the backboard.
    • When shooting a ball from the far left side of the screen it makes sense to shoot the ball from high up on the screen to improve the entry angle of the ball into the basket.
    • Your shooting strength & angle line do not need to physically touch the platform, and can also run through it if you started your shot from a position too close to the platform.
