Board The Ship With Buddies Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen select your icon from 10 different options using the scroll arrows.
  • Use the entered name, or manually enter a player name.
  • Choose who to play against:
    • Select FIND OPPONENT to play against a random online player.
    • Select PRIVATE GAME to set up a private room & create an access code to share, or enter the PRIVATE GAME mode and then input the code a friend shared with you.
  • The welcome screen has a full screen mode button in the upper left corner & buttons for sound control and how to play in the upper right corner.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Left click to fire on incoming pirates when your cannon is aligned correctly.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger to fire on incoming pirates when your cannon is correctly aimed.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Your opponent’s health is shown to the right of the cannon at the top of the screen.
    • Your health is shown to the right of the cannon at the bottom of the screen.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • You always play as the bottom ship with your opponent as the top ship.
    • Your shots can not hit your own pirates.
    • Each ship starts with 10 units of health. Whenever a pirate hits the opposing ship the ship takes damage and loses a heart container.
    • Whoever has health left at the end wins.
  • Tips
    • Your cannon automatically moves back and forth & takes a split second to respond to your command to fire, so be sure to lead the aim slightly.
    • When pirates are close to the center of the screen your aim does not need to be as precise because of the near parallel shot angle to the walking path of the pirate.
    • When pirates are closer to the stern or bow you need to have a far more precise shot angle to hit them, as the cannonball is moving orthogonally to the pirate.
    • When deciding how much to lead the pirate account for how far the cannon ball will travel before it gets to them.
    • If the screen has many pirates on it and you are struggling to keep up it is best to hit the pirates that are next to each other (if you miss one you may still hit the other) and pirates which are closer to the center of the screen (less aim precision required to hit the target).
