• Starting the Game

    • Select the lumberjack button on the bottom right to browse and unlock new characters.

    • With your mouse, left click on the screen to cut.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on either side of the screen with your fingers to cut.
  • Controls and indicators
    • Your score is shown on the top left corner.
    • At the center is the timer.
    • The pause button is on the top right corner.
      • Use the pause menu to turn the game’s music and sound effects on or off.
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Chop down the tree one segment at a time.
      • Left click or tap on one side of the tree to chop from that side.
      • To switch sides, start click or tapping on the other side.
    • Chop the segment of the tree before the timer runs out:
      • The timer starts running the moment you chop down the first tree section.
      • Each time you chop down a tree segment, you regain a little time.
      • Keep chopping tree sections for as long as you can.
    • Avoid getting hit by the tree branches.
      • Getting hit by one is an instant game over.
      • To avoid getting hit by a branch, switch sides.
  • Scoring
    • You earn a point for every segment of tree you cut down
    • You can see the top 3 scores saved on your browser by selecting the ranking button on the welcome screen.
  • Unlocking new lumberjacks
    • Each point you earn adds up to your total.
    • To unlock a new lumberjack, your total score must reach a specific number.
      • Reach 2,000 points to unlock Carl.
      • Reach 3,000 points to unlock Tom.
    • Alternately, you can earn a specific number of points in a single playthrough to unlock the other lumberjacks:
      • Carl unlocks after 200 points.
      • Tom is unlocked after 300 points.
