- Basic rules
- Shoot colored bubbles at the stack.
- Form groups of 3 or more identical bubbles by shooting to clear them.
- If any bubble is attached to a group you clear, these too will fall.
- You can bounce the bubbles off the walls to get them to spots that are higher up.
- Free the baby mushrooms trapped in the bubble stack.
- Clear the level before you run out of bubble ammo.
- If the next bubble in line (the “floating bubble”) is something you can use, switch to it
- You receive a bonus for every bubble you leave unused.
- You will fail the level if you run out of bubbles to pop.
- Special bubbles
- Avoid popping the minus bubbles.
- These appear on level 5 onward.
- For every one of these you pop, you lose 3 bubbles.
- In most cases, these bubbles must be dropped rather than popped.
- In some cases it makes sense to bite the bullet and pop minus bubbles if it clears a path to make a key play.
- Wooden bubbles (“Bubble blocks”) cannot be removed by pairing them.
- They appear on level 6 onward.
- To remove them, have them drop by removing the bubbles connecting the wooden blocks to the stack.
- Clear bubbles appear after level 8.
- They take on the color of the group of bubbles popped near them. From there, they can be popped like any other colored bubble.
- They can also drop like any other bubble.
- Choose the bubbles that pop nearby with care to make these bubbles easier to remove.
- Plus bubbles
- They appear on level 12 onward.
- Popping them adds 3 bubbles to your remaining ammo.
- If you pop a color that contains multiple positive and negative bubbles the values can offset each other (e.g. 2 positives and 1 negative would be +6 – 3 = 3).
- Thunder bubbles
- They appear on level 15 onwards.
- Hitting a thunder bubble with any other bubble causes the thunder bubble to pop.
- When a thunder bubble pops the entire row it is on explodes & everything which is beneath that row also falls off the stack.
- Skull bubbles
- They appear on level 18 onward.
- Avoid hitting skull bubbles with a bubble or all bubbles on the stack turn to skulls and you lose the level.
- Skull bubbles must be knocked off the stack by popping other bubbles connecting them to the stack.
- Be careful your bubble does not slide next to a skull bubble while popping adjacent bubbles or you will still activate the skull bubble and lose.
- Star bubbles
- They appear from level 19 onward.
- Levels
- You start with only the first level unlocked.
- Only the first level is playable at the start of the game.
- Finish one level to unlock the next.
- There are 24 levels in this game.
- You can replay any of the levels you’ve already unlocked.
- If you lose a level by running out of bubbles you can retry the level again from the beginning.
- Scoring and star ratings
- Score
- You earn 10 points for every bubble you pop.
- This includes bubbles that drop off because you removed the bubbles attaching them to the stack.
- You get a pop bonus for larger sets which can effectively double your points earned for removing a large stack at once.
- You also receive 100 bonus points for every remaining bubble you have in ammo when the level is complete.
- Your score is unique to the level.
- Each level has its own high score.
- You can view your current and best scores on the win screen and game over screens of each level.
- You can score up to a 3-star rating on each stage.
- The level select screen shows your level ratings.
- You can replay any previously beat level to earn a better score & star rating on it.
- Tips
- Star ratings
- If you earn fewer than 3 stars play the next stage & progress through the game, coming back to levels with a lower star rating after beating all 24 levels.
- Later levels are harder, so it will be easy to score a high star rating on most early levels after you have beat the harder stages.
- You do not need to remove all bubbles from the stack to beat a level.
- You only need to remove all the bubbles which have mushrooms in them.
- When all bubbles with mushrooms have been popped or knocked off all other bubbles fall and the level is complete.
- The two keys to a high score are:
- making large removals where many bubbles are popped or knocked off with a single move
- using your bubbles efficiently, so that you earn a lot of ammo points by having many bubbles remaining when the level is beat
- Clearance & aiming
- The dot guide is useful, but in some cases the actual bubble path can have a bit of slippage low, particularly if you ricochet a bubble off the walls.
- When shooting bubbles near the skull hit on the outside edges of adjacent bubbles so your bubble does not slide into position next to the skull and force a loss.
- When bubbles get caught they can block your path for other shots, so sometimes it is better to play conservatively rather than go for too aggressive of a trick shot.
- Bubble colors
- The orange and red bubbles are colored quite similarly. Be sure you are shooting at the correct target.
- If the current bubble is not easily used or the next up bubble has a much better use case it does not cost you a turn to use the swap bubbles feature. You can swap the up next bubble an unlimited number of times.
- If the current bubble and the next up bubble are both the same color & are not easy to play you should try to shoot one of them into an area that does not obstruct your shot path for your subsequent shots & enables you to easily knock it off the stack later by popping bubbles above it.
- Special bubbles
- Don’t be afraid to hit a minus bubbles if they enable you to open up a path for a subsequent great shot.
- Use patience and clear off colors one at a time when near the wood bubbles.
- Always shoot to the outside edge of adjacent bubbles that are near skull bubbles & be extra careful when ricocheting your shot near a skull.
- If you see a special star bubble which connects the rest of the stack or a lightning bubble try to work that part of the level to make way to hit it so you can knock off many other bubbles.
- When there are individual clear bubbles connecting parts of the stack or there are clear bubbles around mushrooms & near mushrooms consider which adjacent sets you want to pop first to make it easy to make longer runs of same-colored bubbles to removed.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like bubble shooting games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
