How to Play
Fly to the top of each level while evading the rising lava and other dangers. Light all three torches in each level to complete the level 100%.
- Starting the Game
- Click the black button with the gray triangle on the game’s welcome screen to start the game.
- If you are playing the game for the first time clicking the play button will bring up a cut scene then start you on the first level.
- On subsequent plays it will still show the cut scene but then send you to the level select screen.
- You must beat each of the levels to unlock the next. You can beat a level just by getting to the top of it even if you do not light all three torches.
- You can go back and replay previously beat levels.
- The welcome screen shows how many of the 27 torches you have lit.
- The welcome screen also has the following features: FX and sound control buttons in the lower right corner and a developer info button in the lower left corner.
- Your web browser automatically saves your unlocked levels and torch data.
- Game Controls
- Desktop
- Left click your mouse to cause Bunnicula to fly upward.
- The rate at which you click determines how quickly he will fly upward.
- Click in the direction you want him to move.
- If you stop clicking Bunnicula will fall.
- Mobile
- Tap your finger on the screen to fly.
- If you use only one index finger then the game can get frustrating as your finger gets in the way.
- If you tap with both thumbs then the mobile controls are generally more fluid than desktop and enable you better flight control.
- If you tap with both thumbs you have to remember to tap the side you want to move toward more quickly or to stop tapping on the other side if you are trying to move left or right.
- The only sort of issue I had with mobile usage was sometimes if you get stuck on the edge of a spider web it would not record the taps to free you from the web, but most of the time it still would.
- The game has a level meter across the top which shows how far through the level you are.
- In the upper right corner of the screen there is a pause button. When you click on it a menu appears at the bottom of the screen which allows you to: resume play, go back to the game’s welcome screen, turn music on or off, turn FX on or off, or restart the current level.
- Game Strategy
- Beating Levels
- You can beat a level by getting to the top of it even if you do not light the torches along the way.
- You can go back and light the torches on a subsequent playthrough.
- Obstacles & Dying
- The lava is constantly moving, so you must too!
- If you get caught in a spider web you will not move until you break it. You have to try to fly repeatedly to break the spider web.
- Bumping your head off the roof slows you down slightly.
- You do slow down a lot if you run into a spike.
- If an object blocking your path is spinning try to pass by it traveling in the same direction it is.
- You do not get hurt by touching the sides of the snake, but must click rapidly to move between them as they keep rotating leaving you only a narrow window to enter their circle and a narrow window to escape it.
- You die whenever the lava catches up with you.
- Target Audience
- This game is fun for Bunnicula fans of all ages.
- There are no adult themes in the game.
