How to Play
Match open stones repeatedly until the boards are clear of tiles. Beat the clock and play through 60 challenging stages.
- Starting the Game
- Select the Play button in the center of the game’s welcome screen to go to the level select screen.
- Initially only the first level is available.
- Levels are unlocked sequentially.
- Your web browser saves your game progress including beat levels and level scores.
- Under the play button there are buttons for how to play help advice, game high scores, and more games to play.
- In the lower left corner of the game’s welcome screen is a language select drop down.
- In the lower right corner of the game’s welcome screen are buttons for settings (to adjust game sounds or music & reset game progress), sharing the game on social networks, and game developer information.
- Game Controls
- Desktop
- Select an open tile with your mouse left click button then select a matching open tile to remove the pair from the playing field.
- Touchscreen devices
- Touch the screen with a finger to select matching open tiles to remove.
- Controls & indicators
- At the top of the right rail it shows which level you are on, your level score & how many remaining available moves there are.
- Underneath those data points are buttons to shuffle the remaining tiles or take a hint.
- At the bottom of the right rail there are buttons to pause the game, switch to full screen mode, control game sound, and control game music.
- The top of the level has a candy meter which ticks down as you play. It has demarcations for when you must complete the level by to earn 1, 2 or 3 stars.
- The level select screen shows which levels you have completed, what score you earned on them, your level star ratings, and your cumulative game score.
- Game Play
- Open stones
- A stone (or tile) is considered open if there is no tile directly on top of it & at least one of its left or right sides is open.
- Only open tiles can be matched.
- Tiles which are open have a brighter background color & tiles which are not open have more of a grayish background color.
- When no matches remain the tiles are automatically shuffled.
- The automated shuffling does not cost you a shuffle.
- Conversely, this means that if the tiles have not shuffled you know there is at least 1 open match remaining.
- If you chose the wrong tile then selecting any other non-matching tile will deselect the prior tile.
- Sliding tiles
- In this game tiles slide downward when the tile directly under them is removed.
- Since tiles slide downward when they can it means the bottommost row will be the deepest in terms of tiles being hidden underneath other tiles, so it can make sense to work through those as much as possible early in the game.
- It is best to try to create gaps between columns so that almost every tile which is shown is open & can be matched.
- Levels
- Each stage has a unique layout.
- Early stages are shallow with few tiles on them.
- Later stages show more tiles at a time and are deeper with some parts of the stages having many tiles stacked atop one another.
- Each level has a unique time limit, with the layouts getting more complex and the time limits longer as you progress through the game.
- The time limit is reflected in the star scoring meter at the top of the screen.
- Levels are considered beat when you remove all tiles from the level.
- If all remaining tiles are in a single stack then a shuffle can not help you & thus the level is still considered beat.
- You can replay previously beat levels to try to earn a higher score on them.
- If you fail a level you can choose to end your game or replay the level.
- Star ratings
- You can earn up to a 3-star rating on each level, depending on how quickly you beat each level.
- You can beat a level even if you have a zero star rating on it.
- Scoring
- Each tile match you make is worth 10 points, with the exception of multiplier tiles.
- Multiplier tiles can show 2x, 4x, or 6x on them.
- What multiplier tiles do is multiply your total level score thusfar by the multiple shown on the tile face.
It makes sense to wait as long as possible to use the multiple tiles to multiply a larger number.
- Shuffling tiles costs you 500 points.
- If your score is negative when you use a multiplier tile it will make the score double while retaining its negative value. For example, if your score was 40 and you used a shuffle you would go to -460. A doubling tile from there would take your level score to -920.
- You also earn bonus points for finishing levels quickly.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Slide tile matching games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
