How to Play
Identify the location of the stars on the grid. Each irregular box must contain a single star.
- Starting the Game
- On the left side of the welcome screen, choose a grid size to begin the game:
- 6 x 6 (36 cells)
- 8 x 8 (64 cells)
- 10 x 10 (100 cells)
- On the right side of the screen:
- Select Print to create a hard copy of the day’s puzzle.
- Select Help to learn how the game works.

- Each date has its own unique puzzle for each difficulty level. Each grid will have 365 to 366 battles.
- Get a new puzzle by doing the following:
- Select next on the winning screen after completing your previous puzzle.
- Choose a new puzzle from the date.
- Choose a different-sized grid.
- Objectives
- Place a star in each row, column, and box (islands) in the grid.
- You start off with a completely blank grid. Star placement will vary but must follow the rules set by the game.
- Rules
- All rows must contain 1 star.
- All columns must contain 1 star.
- All boxes must contain 1 star.
- Stars cannot be next to each other, not even diagonally.
- Input
- The first things you place are circles.
- These can represent blank areas or possible areas to place in the stars. It’s your call.
- They don’t do anything except help you track.
- You can also just leave it blank if you don’t think you need to keep track
- Select twice to get the star. You only need to mark all the spaces with stars to win.
- Tips
- Remember the rules when placing the stars. This can be helpful in deciding where the stars should go.
- Start with the smallest of the islands. Small islands have fewer possible places to place stars in.
