Daily Star Battle Grid Filling Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the left side of the welcome screen, choose a grid size to begin the game:
    • 6 x 6 (36 cells)
    • 8 x 8 (64 cells)
    • 10 x 10 (100 cells)
  • On the right side of the screen:
    • Select Print to create a hard copy of the day’s puzzle.
    • Select Help to learn how the game works.
  • Choose the game’s language via the drop-down list on the top left corner of the screen:

  • Your web browser automatically saves your game’s progress.

    • With your mouse:
      • Left click once to put in a blank circle.

  • Controls & indicators
    • The controls and indicators of the game are found on the left side of the screen. From the top, they are as follows:
      • The game’s logo (it’s very big)
      • The present date
      • The timer
      • The row of buttons, from left to right:
        • Undo button: Removes your last action
        • Pause button: Briefly interrupts the game
        • Reset button: Restarts the playing field from the beginning
        • Music button: Toggles the game’s music
        • Sound effects button: Toggles the game’s audio effects
        • Enlarge button: Lets you switch from windowed to full-screen modes
• Game Play
  • Puzzle generation
    • The game generates a new puzzle every day.
    • Each date has its own unique puzzle for each difficulty level. Each grid will have 365 to 366 battles.
    • Get a new puzzle by doing the following:
      • Select next on the winning screen after completing your previous puzzle.
      • Choose a new puzzle from the date.
      • Choose a different-sized grid.
  • Objectives
    • Place a star in each row, column, and box (islands) in the grid.
    • You start off with a completely blank grid. Star placement will vary but must follow the rules set by the game.
  • Rules
    • All rows must contain 1 star.
    • All columns must contain 1 star.
    • All boxes must contain 1 star.
    • Stars cannot be next to each other, not even diagonally.
  • Input
    • The first things you place are circles.
      • These can represent blank areas or possible areas to place in the stars. It’s your call.
      • They don’t do anything except help you track.
      • You can also just leave it blank if you don’t think you need to keep track
    • Select twice to get the star. You only need to mark all the spaces with stars to win.
  • Tips
    • Remember the rules when placing the stars. This can be helpful in deciding where the stars should go.
    • Start with the smallest of the islands. Small islands have fewer possible places to place stars in.
