Daily Wordoku Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select a difficulty level to begin:
    • Easy
    • Medium
    • Hard
    • Expert
  • Select Help to read the game’s instructions.
  • Select Print Today’s Wordoku to create a hard copy of the day’s puzzle.
  • Change the game’s language through the drop-down list on the bottom left corner of the screen.

• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse:
      • Left click to select a cell.
      • Left click on a letter from the on-screen keyboard to place in a “candidate” letter.
      • Left click on the same letter to finalize your answer.
      • Left on the letter a third time to clear the cell.
    • With your keyboard
      • Type in the letter of your choice as a candidate.
      • Type in the letter again to finalize your answer.
      • Use the backspace or delete keys to clear the cell.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers.
      • Tap on a cell to select it.
      • Tap on a letter in the on-screen keyboard to place it in as a candidate.
      • Tap on the same letter twice to finalize your answer.

• Game Play
  • Generating puzzles
    • The game generates a different puzzle for every day of the year.
    • You can choose up to 365 to 366 different puzzles for each difficulty level.
    • You can play again by choosing the puzzle of a different day on the calendar or by selecting next on the winning screen.
  • Objectives
    • The game is a letter version of the classic game Sudoku. Your goal is to fill the entire 9 x 9 grid with 9 letters.
    • You start the game with a few given letters.
      • Use these as clues to deduce the location and identity of the other letters.
      • The harder your difficulty level, the fewer given letters you start with.
    • No letter should repeat in any row, column, or square.
    • The highlighted diagonal line will form a 9-letter word.
      • Your secondary goal is to identify this word.
      • It is possible for you to solve this before finishing the entire puzzle.
  • Input
    • Select a cell to make it active. You can only place in answers in an active cell.
    • You can place in candidate (guess) answers before placing in your final answer.
      • Candidate letters are small. You can have several of them at once.
      • As you eliminate guesses, you can remove candidate numbers until you have one left.
    • To remove candidates, clear the cell and add in the remaining candidate answers.
    • If you only have a single candidate left, select that same letter again to make it your final answer
