Defend The Beach Typing Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
  • Select the enlarge button on the top left corner to switch between windowed and full screen modes.
  • Select the gear button on the top right corner to open the game’s audio controls. Use the sliders to change the volume of either the game’s music or sound effects.

    • With your keyboard:
      • Type in the words of the ships you want to shoot.
      • Use the space bar or the Esc key to skip a word.
      • Use the shift key to drop the bomb.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers:
      • Tap on the letters on the onscreen keyboard to type in the words of the ships you’ll be shooting.
      • Tap on the red bomber button to call in the bombers.
      • Tap on the exit button to quit the game and return to the welcome screen.
  • Controls and indicators
    • The game’s pause button is located on the top right corner of the screen.
    • The bomber button appears on the bottom left corner.
    • The exit button appears on the bottom right corner of the screen in touchscreen devices.
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Shoot down as many ships as you can.
    • To shoot down a ship, type the word above it.
      • Once you’ve finished typing the word correctly, the ship goes down.
      • Clear all the enemy ships to survive the wave.
    • Defeat all the enemy ships in the wave to win.
  • Health
    • Your gun has a limited amount of health, represented by a bar below it.
    • As you get shot, the bar empties.
    • When the bar is completely depleted, you lose the game.
  • Bombers
    • You have 3 opportunities to call in the bombers.
    • The bombers can make quick work of an entire wave.
    • Use them only in emergencies when you get overwhelmed by the number of ships.
