- Basic rules
- Attack the invading armies with one of 4 spells.
- The spell must strike the approaching soldiers wherever they may stand.
- To do this while they’re still moving, consider attacking somewhere in front of where the soldiers are.
- Spells take time to charge before you can use them again.
- Survive for as long as you can.
- Each attack on the castle causes it to lose health.
- When the castle’s health bar is zero, it’s game over.
- The game over screen shows you how many minutes you managed to survive.
- Earn upgrades for your castle and spells using your coins.
- Invaders
- There are 4 kinds of invaders besieging your castle.
- Archers fire from a distance using a bow and arrow.
- Knights attack at the walls from up close.
- Grenadiers launch bombs at the castle.
- Wizards fire magic spells at the castle.
- Each of the invaders have their own weaknesses and can be killed more easily by a specific spell.
- Archers are weak to fire spells.
- Knights are weak to lightning spells.
- Wizards are weak to arrow spells.
- Grenadiers are weak to ice spells.
- If you have trouble remember the associations between spells and enemies the above list is in the order of the buttons at the bottom of the screen from left to right.
- The acronym AKWG can help you remember the order.
- If AKWG is hard to remember you can remember just the AKW and then know the fourth enemy type is the final button.
- Enemies can still be defeated using the wrong spell type on them, but doing so takes many hits. For example, it can take 4 lightning bolts to destroy an archer.
- Aiming
- While the attackers are in motion be sure to lead them by firing slightly below them.
- When enemies are stationary you can aim directly at them.
- If 2 of the same types of enemies are near each other you can in some cases take out multiple foes with a single well-aimed attack.
- Who to attack first?
- If you have multiple of the same sort of enemy appear in a row it makes sense to repeatedly attack them so you do not have to keep switching between spells.
- It is best to attack range opponents before the mele opponents as the range enemies can attack you from half way across the screen, giving you less time to react before you take damage.
- Coins
- Pick up any coins that appear onscreen.
- Coins appear randomly in the field.
- They are also dropped by dead enemies.
- Pick them up in between enemy waves, or when they are near an enemy you just defeated and while no other enemies are on the screen.
- Use the coins to buy upgrades for your castle and spells.
- Castle upgrades replenish your hit points.
- Spell upgrades reduce the charge time of your spells.
- Upgrades cost 10 for the first upgrade, 30 for the second upgrade, and 50 for the third upgrade.
- It is best to upgrade the castle first as the health benefits you no matter what sort of enemy you face, whereas the spell-based upgrades only work on a specific spell and enemy type.
- Whenever you lose the game you lose all your coins & your upgrades are reset to zero.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like base defense games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
