- Upgrades
- You must buy and improve weapons to continue surviving the onslaught of zombies.
- While your first gun has infinite ammo, it is insufficient for more powerful monsters.
- Any upgrade you buy only applies to that specific gun.
- For each gun you can upgrade damage, accuracy and reload speed.
- Each feature can be upgraded up to 4 times per gun.
- The first upgrade costs 150, the next upgrade of the same feature is 300, then 450, and 600.
- The cost of fully upgrading any feature on a gun is 1,500 and the cost of fully upgrading all 3 is 4,500.
- You can skip over upgrading weapons & spend most of your upgrade points on a key gun or two you like to use.
- Having 2 fully powered guns is more valuable than having 5 half powered guns as the ammo for a particular weapon costs the same amount no matter how much damage the gun does.
- Ammunition
- While the first gun has endless free ammo, all other guns need separate caches of ammunition. This can get pretty costly fast.
- You can switch between guns in the middle of battle using buttons on the lower left, though it takes 250 milliseconds to switch.
- Gun Unlocks
- You start with a handgun and can unlock an Uzi, riffle, shotgun, and AK47 as you progress through the game. They unlock at levels 5, 11, 20 and 25.
- Gun attributes are shown in a table below.
- Tips
- Upgrade all your weapons, including your first gun.
- You will rely on your first gun a lot, so be prepared to spend some money upgrading it. It is the most important gun to upgrade since:
- ammo is free (so you spend your earnings on upgrading gun firepower, accuracy & reload speed rather than ammo)
- it is the gun your character defaults to if any other gun you are using runs out of bullets
- A fully upgraded gun can make quick work of some of the earlier demons.
- Dispatching these demons quickly while saving ammo for the tougher enemies is a crucial for long-term survival in either game mode.
- On the final level it is important to have a fully upgraded AK-47 with around 500 bullets to shoot your way through both waves.
- Switch between guns.
- Your first gun is the best tool to use to dispatch low-level, swarming enemies & to start each level with.
- When the screen has too many enemies to keep up with switch to a higher power weapon
- Shooting strategy
- In general you typically want to shoot enemies as soon as they enter the screen and aim for the head.
- If enemies are of similar depth dispatch the ones near the edges of the hallway first as aiming for those gets harder as they get closer and they are moving horizontally across the screen as well as vertically.
- Most enemies can only hit you once, so if you fall behind and can’t keep up simply choose to ignore an enemy or two and focus on the other enemies.
- Larger enemies generally do more damage, so ideally it is best to take them out if you can.
- Enemies which shoot fireballs can hit you many times, so dispatch those before the other enemies which generally only hit you once.
- Final Level
- The final level has frequent and powerful enemies appearing in both rounds, so you really need to have some AK-47 bullets saved up for it. If your AK-47 is fully upgraded, you have around 500 bullets saved up, and are accurate with your shots the gun should last at least until the end guy.
- I like to use the handgun in the boss battles.
- Boss battles
- Some levels have a boss at the end of the final round.
- The bosses shoot fireballs from afar but stand in place.
- Time your shots so you have a round left to hit their fireball and are not reloading when they shoot a fireball.
- Play endless mode to make more money for upgrades.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for people who like first person shooter games.
- The game has guns in it, so it may not be suitable for some younger children.
- The game has no adult themed content.
