- Game Play
- Basics
- This is a simple platforming game where you help a hungry animal reach a donut at the end of each level.
- Levels
- This game has 10 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
- You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
- Winning vs losing
- You beat a level by making it to the donut at the end of the stage.
- You lose if you hit anything (fixed spikes, moving spikes, fireballs, moving enemies).
- This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the begging of the current level whenever you die.
- Tips
- Some of the platforms you stand on disappear quickly after you stand on them.
- When you are moving down in an area with horizontal fireballs it can be a good idea to land on a disappearing platform right after the fireball passes & then fall down to the next platform as the current platform disappears (negating the need to jump again & avoiding risking hitting a fireball above or below during a jump move that has you exposed for an extended period of time).
- Most enemies move in a fixed pattern, so you can mark their path length and use it to time your movements.
- Be aware the screen background has a parallax movement, so you’ll need to use the foreground to measure distances.
- Some enemies disappear and then reappear. You can still get hit while the enemies are in the visually hidden state.
- Since the levels are not timed it is best to get to just beyond the edge of a path and then cross when you have optimal timing.
- If you need to jump over an enemy you can test your ability to jump vertically to ensure you will not hit your head on the ceiling, so that when it is time to jump you don’t catch a surprise.
- When you push cupcakes you move far slower, so you’ll need to batch long cupcake moves into a series of shorter moves then jump across.
- Your jump timing requires far greater precision when you get up to the later levels, starting with level 7.
- You can adjust horizontal movement while in midair.
- You can jump once, wait a while, and then activate the second jump just before landing to maximize your air time.
- On level 8 after you make it to the upper part of the stage there is an enemy which shoots fireballs. The angle on the fireball shooter changes dramatically on each playthrough, making the level nearly impossible in some cases & far easier in others.
- Level 9 requires you to go most of the way through the level to activate a switch, then go back near the beginning of the level to activate a second switch, and then move on toward the end of the level.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like platforming games.
- We also offer the sequel to this game, Donut Lover 2. The sequel is more of a physics puzzle game where you roll donuts instead of being a platforming game.
- The game has no adult themed content.
