Double Freecell Solitaire Cards Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

How to Play

Build down while alternating suit color on the tableau & build up by suit to the 8 foundations.

  • Starting the Game
    • Select the Play button on the game’s welcome screen to deal a random hand.
    • Below & to the right of the Play button are buttons for game High Scores, Help, and More Games.
    • The lower left corner of the welcome screen has a language select dropdown.
    • The lower right corner has buttons for sharing the game on social media, reading game developer information, and installing the game as a web app on your device for quick play.
  • Game Controls
    • Desktop
      • Drag a card or a descending run of cards which alternates suit colors from one column to another on the tableau.
      • Players can drag cards back and forth between tableau columns & the free cells, but any cards which are dragged onto a foundation can not be moved back into play.
    • Touchscreen devices
      • Tap the screen with a finger to select a card and drag it where you want to play it.
    • Controls & indicators
      • At the top of the right column there is a button to switch between embedded play and full screen mode.
      • Underneath that butt the game shows your remaining play time and current score.
      • Next are 3 buttons for pausing the game, restarting the game, and undoing the most recent move. You can undo up to 3 moves per game.
      • At the bottom of the right column there are 4 buttons to change card designs, turn autoplay to foundations on or off, control game sound, and control game music.
  • Game Play
    • Deal
      • This game uses two 52 cards decks.
      • All 104 cards are dealt directly to the tableau face up across 10 columns. 4 columns have 11 cards each and 6 columns have 10 cards each.
    • Playing
      • Tableau moves
        • You can only move the bottom cards of a stack on the tableau.
          • To move more than one card at a time you need either empty columns on the tableau or empty free cells.
          • Cards you move must be in descending incremental order while alternating suit color.
          • If you want to move a tall stack but do not have enough spaces to move it at once sometimes you can move it by breaking it down into smaller stacks & moving it across other columns on the tableau a bit at a time
        • In this game you can place any card or any sequential descending run of cards that alternates suit colors onto empty columns on the tableau.
          • Some games require a King to be the root card on empty columns, but this game does not.
          • Creating an empty column early in the game and getting many Aces to the foundations early opens up a lot of other play opportunities.
      • Building foundations
        • Once cards have been played to a foundation you can not bring them back into the game.
        • The game automatically moves cards to the foundations unless you turn the autoplay feature off.
          • The autoplay feature in this game tends to be a bit more aggressive than in most of our other games, so you may have to turn the feature off and then undo a move if the autoplay moves a card you do not want moved.
          • I would recommend turning autoplay off early in the game as a matter of course until you have things pretty well organized, as sometimes the autoplay can limit your stack options by playing to the foundation a card you need to complete another moveable stack on the tableau.
          • The autoplay often pulls cards from the tableau before pulling from the free cells, whereas if done manually a person would rather do it the other way around.
          • In some cases you may need to manually move the second set of aces to the foundations atop the kings, even with autoplay turned on.
        • You can also manually move cards to the foundations to enable other plays.
          • Sometimes you have to move cards back and forth to enable said moves.
          • Be aware that if you lay a card to a foundation which was in the middle of a stack you might not be able to rebuild that stack.
        • This game only has room for 4 foundations showing in the interface.
          • It is easy to fill up free cells with kings, the second aces & other cards which are not easily played.
          • Try to work on all 4 suits in parallel and not let one suit get too far out in front of the other suits or else it will be easy to get stuck.
          • After completing a suit you can then place the second ace of that suit onto the King to start a second foundation of that suit.
      • Free cells
        • This game has 6 free cells.
        • You can store cards temporarily in the free cells to enable other plays, but should try to keep those cells empty most of the time.
        • The free cells combine with empty columns to allow you to make large moves. For example, if you had an empty column you were not moving cards to and had 4 empty free cells you could move 9 cards at a time (2*4+1).
    • Scoring
      • You score 10 points for each card laid to a foundation, for a maximum base score of 1,040 points.
      • If you remove a card from a foundation using the move undo feature that will cost you 10 points & you will not get those points back when that card is laid to the foundation again.
      • Your remaining time when you beat the game adds to your score. Each second is worth 50 points.
  • Target Audience
    • The game is suited for players who like variations on the basic Freecell Solitaire card games.
      • This game is quite hard.
      • We offer a far easier 2-deck version of Freecell Solitaire named FreeCell Duplex. That game offers 8 foundation slots at all times & 8 free cells, making it far harder to get stuck.
    • The game has no adult themed content.
