Egg Escape Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the yellow and black PLAY button near the bottom of the game’s welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Initially only the first level is accessible.
    • Each time you beat a level you unlock the next.
• Game Controls

    • Use your mouse left click button to interact with the game.

    • Tap the on screen buttons & select and drag the platforms to move them.
  • Controls & indicators
    • At the top of the screen the stars indicate how many stars you have earned in the game and the platform indicates how many times you can move platforms before the egg automatically drops.
    • Along the right side the 5 buttons (from top to bottom) are:
      • scroll up
      • initiate egg roll
      • scroll down
      • level select
      • restart level

  • Levels
    • The levels in this game are quite tall.
    • The first level had 9 full screens worth of scrolling & some of the later levels are longer.
    • You lose if the egg falls off screen left or right.
    • You get unlimited continues in this game.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels, but if you close your web browser and play again it, depending on your browser configuration it may not retain your beat levels data.
  • Play tips
    • Before moving any platforms it can be helpful to scroll all the way to the bottom of the level and work your way back up.
      • You do not need to move every platform, and in fact you can only move a limited number of them before the egg automatically drops.
      • You can only control the vertical and horizontal positioning of platforms. You can not adjust the angles on the platforms.
    • The egg does not need to touch every platform.
      • If a platform is pushing an egg that would hit it in a direction other than toward the middle of the screen you either need to move it or ensure the path above it is such that they egg bypasses it without touching it.
    • The longer the egg falls the more vertical momentum will be converted to horizontal momentum when it finally strikes a platform.
    • Some platforms may need moved up or down slightly to catch the egg.
      • If you play and you see the egg fly off screen remember how many platforms it hit first so you know which the next platform you need to adjust is.
      • Whenever you lose all platforms are restored to their level starting position, requiring you to change many of them again, which makes this game frustrating unless you have a lot of patience.
    • In some cases it can make sense to arrange platforms in a funnellike shape ( \ / ) while they are close together so that the egg is caught by them, and moves back and forth absorbing a lot of energy before falling further.
      • Depending on how the egg rolls sometimes this strategy can backfire from the egg getting stuck near the bottom of the funnel in an oblong wide position.
      • When you use this strategy you want the egg to catch on one side or the other and bounce back and forth so that you use up much of its kinetic energy before it reaches the next platform beneath it.
