Farm Island Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the play button bottom center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The welcome screen also has a sound control button in the upper right corner.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select a crop and then drag your mouse in the direction you wish to move and lay seeds.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger to select a seed box and drag your finger across the screen to move it.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The current level number is shown in the upper left corner.
    • The upper right corner has buttons for sound control, returning to the game’s welcome screen & restarting the current level.
    • Seed boxes have counts on them representing how many seeds they have left in them & turn green when all seeds have been used.
    • The level select screen shows which levels you have unlocked.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • The goal of this game is to plant all the seeds in a limited amount of space.
    • You can turn any number of times with any particular seed type, but you must use the exact number of each seed type shown on each level.
    • When you plant seeds you can not cross over other seed types to where one square has two types of seeds in it.
    • If you make a mistake you can backtrack that seed type.
  • Levels
    • This game has 25 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
    • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • A level is considered beat when each square on the farm has a seed & you have planted the correct number of each seed type.
  • Strategy
    • In most cases it makes sense to start off with the boxes with a smaller number on them as they have less potential move or path options.
    • Try to lay the seeds in such a way that you do not leave many squares which are only accessible from one direction.
      • Fill in the perimeter and any squares which are accessible from one direction early if you can.
      • If you only have one type of seed remaining and you have multiple squares which are accessible from only one direction then you need to alter how you laid prior seeds.
      • When you have only one type of seed remaining and there is a single square which is accessible from only one direction that means you must plan out your route so that you end your path on that square.
    • If you make a mistake you can backtrack by bringing the box back in the direction it came from.
      • If you keep making a mistake with a box try to start with other boxes to limit your potential opportunities for errors, then come back to that box after making other plays.
