Feed The Snake Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
  • The following controls can be found on the top left corner of the welcome screen:
    • Select the speaker button to turn the game’s audio on or off.
    • Select the question mark button to open the game’s tutorial window.
  • On the bottom right corner of the welcome screen is the realms button.
    • There are 6 realms unlocked sequentially: jungle, beach, icy caves, ocean, pumpkin garden, and castle.
    • Select this to choose a themed realm to play in.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your high score.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard, use the arrow keys to move the snake.
      • Press the right arrow key to move to the right side of the screen.
      • Press the left arrow key to move to the left side of the screen.
      • Press the up arrow key to move upward.
      • Press the down arrow key to move down.
    • Some snake games allow moving at diagonals or angles, but in this game you only move due North, due South, due East, and due West.
    • You can move in any direction other than the opposite direction you were already moving, and you can rapidly change directions repeatedly.

  • Basic rules
    • The rules of classic snake with walls apply in this game:
      • As the snake, move toward the food and eat as many as you can.
      • Avoid hitting the walls or your own tail.
      • An exception or difference between this game and traditional snake games is that you start the game with 3 lives instead of one.
    • Collect all the required keys to exit the level.
      • As you advance through the stages in a realm you’ll need to acquire more keys to unlock each stage.
    • Eat the super tongue power up for a score boost.
      • The super tongue power up appears at random.
      • It will only appear for a brief time; get it before it’s gone.
      • While it’s active, all the fruits that appear on the level will go to you automatically.
      • Its effects only lasts for a few seconds.
    • Once the doors open, move to any of the open doors to exit.
    • Complete each of the levels within the given time limits.
  • Scoring
    • You earn 50 point for every fruit you eat.
    • The game shows you your best and current scores at the game over screen.
  • Lives
    • You start each session with 3 lives, represented by hearts on the top right corner of the screen.
    • Each time you hit your tail or the walls, you lose a life.
      • Hitting your own tail will cause you to shrink back into a tiny snake.
      • Hitting the walls will do nothing to your length.
      • It can be incredibly easy to hit the walls or yourself while the super tongue power up is active. Be careful.
    • Lose all your lives, and you lose the playthrough.
  • Realms and levels
    • The game is divided into 6 realms.
    • Realms are unlocked in sequence.
      • You start with only one realm unlocked.
      • Finish all the levels in one realm to unlock the next.
    • You must finish all the levels in a realm within the number of lives you have to unlock the next realm.
    • When you lose all your lives, you must start from the first level of the realm you were playing.
    • Use the realms button to switch between realms.
