- Level design
- Each stage has a unique time limit and level design.
- The first stage gives you 2:15 to complete it.
- As you advance through the game level time limits increase.
- For example, the fifth level gives you 2:55 to complete it & the thirteenth level gives you 3:27.
- Basic rules
- Match identical pairs of tiles to remove them from the tower.
- You can only remove free tiles.
- Free tiles don’t have another tile on top of them. They must also have one side (left or right) without an adjacent tile.
- Free tiles have a lighter background color, whereas tiles that are not free have a grayed out background color.
- Tiles that are not free can not be selected & tiles that are free turn red when selected & appear in the upper left corner of the game.
- Clear out the entire board before the timer runs out.
- Each level gives you more time to clear the tower.
- If you fail to clear the entire board, you can try again or end the game.
- If all remaining tiles on a level are inside of a single tower column then the level is considered beat as shuffling will not allow you to create any tile pairs.
- Similarly, if no valid moves remain and a shuffle can not create valid moves because all tiles are stuck under a single tower position the level is also considered complete.
- You can finish a level with many tiles on it quickly using the above method. That level will have a low tile-based score, but can earn many points from the remaining time on the clock.
- Strategy
- Some boards have a few tall towers and some more shallow stacks. In general it is typically best to play from the tallest tiles as frequently as you can to help open up the field & only use the shorter stacks as needed to help work down the larger stacks.
- Larger stacks and overshadow adjacent smaller stacks, so not only should you work them down to help open up more plays across the level, but it also helps you get a better sight of nearby smaller stacks which they may tower over.
- Sometimes a tall stack can not only make it hard to see a stack to the right, but it can also make the tap target smaller to nearly invisible. If this happens you can first tap another matching stone then try to match it off with the stone with a small hit area.
- If there is a singular tall tower on a stage and you are able to make other pairs that do not pair with it early you may want to consider shuffling the tiles until you can get pair matches that let you work down the largest tower.
- When you select a tile it is shown in the upper left corner of the screen until it is paired off.
- Scoring
- You receive 2 scores: A level score and a total game score.
- The level score applies to the level you finish.
- Each pair of tiles you remove is worth 100 points.
- You also gain a bonus of 30 points for every second left on the timer when the level is completed.
- Your total score is the sum of all the points you’ve earned from every level.
- Replaying a level will only change your total score if your new level score is higher than your previous one.
- You can save your total score on the leader board after the following:
- You finish all the levels in the game.
- You end the game after hitting the game over.
