Formula Racing Game for Kids Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Press the red and white start button in the center of the game’s welcome screen.
  • The welcome screen also contains a gray sound control button.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your arrow keys to drive.
      • Up accelerates.
      • Left and right turn.
      • Spacebar breaks.
    • Screen mode
      • After races end there is a button to the right of the restart button to enter full screen mode.
      • Click the escape key to exit full screen mode.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on screen buttons.
    • The left and right turn buttons are in the lower left corner.
    • A and B buttons are in the lower right corner, with A being accelerate and B being brake.
• Game Play
  • Instrumentation
    • Across the top of the screen it shows race time, lap number, position, and speed.
  • Steering
    • Your car stays in the horizontal center of the screen around 80% of the way down.
      • When you steer the course around you moves while your position on the screen stays fairly static.
    • In this game it is quite easy to oversteer.
      • Tapping your directional keys rather than pressing and holding can work well.
    • Off Course
      • If you go off course get back onto the course as quickly as possible as you drive slow in the grass as though you are in mud.
  • Accelerating
    • In this game you want to leave the gas on full throttle for most of the race, only ever temporarily letting off to avoid crashing into other cars.
    • You slow down quite quickly when you let go of the accelerator.
    • You slow down abruptly as though you crashed if you use the brakes while also releasing the accelerator.
    • You slow down less abruptly if you leave the accelerator pressed and lightly tap the brake.
  • Crashing
    • You always start in last place, so you have to work your way up from 12/12 position every game.
    • You do not die when you crash, but the competing cars in this game are almost like tanks if you bump into them, throwing you widely off course.
    • Many competing cars appear to drive with intent of causing collisions rather than driving to win.
    • Try to pass competing cars on the inside lane on corners.
