- Game Controls
- Desktop
- Select an open tile with your mouse left click button & then select an identical matching open tile to remove both from the game.
- Most tiles must be identical to match, however you can match any open flower tile with another open flower tile & match any open season tile with another open season tile.
- Touchscreen devices
- Select an open tile on the screen by tapping it with a finger & then select an identical matching open tile to remove both from the game.
- Controls & indicators
- Across the top of the game it shows what level you are on, your score, and how much time you have remaining to complete the current level.
- In the upper right corner there are 4 buttons to control game music, control game sounds, pause the game, & to switch to full screen mode.
- At the top of the right rail there are 2 buttons for taking a hint and shuffling the remaining tiles.
- Game Play
- Open stones
- A stone (or tile) is considered open if there is no tile directly on top of it & at least one of its left or right sides is open.
- Only open tiles can be matched.
- Tiles which are open turn a blueish color when selected.
- You can’t select tiles which are not open.
- Identical tile matching
- In most cases you can only match identical open tiles.
- This game has 2 exceptions to the identical rule of thumb:
- Open flower tiles can be matched with any other open flower tiles.
- Open season tiles can be matches with any other open season tiles.
- When no matches remain the tiles are automatically shuffled.
- Conversely, this means that if the tiles have not shuffled you know there is at least 1 open match remaining.
- Open tiles have blueish background colors when you select them.
- If you chose the wrong tile then selecting any other non-matching tile will deselect the prior tile.
- Some tiles from taller stacks can obscure part of tiles on shorter stacks. If you can’t find a match it might be because part of the tile is obfuscated.
- Generally it is best to go for the widest rows and tallest columns first to open up the playing field, but the unlimited free shuffles makes that less important in this game.
- When matching tiles it can be helpful to cue off a particular aspect like a color, having dots or numbers, etc. … so that you can quickly scan the board for matches.
- If you are uncertain if a tile is open click on it to try to select it. If it does not turn blue that means it is not open.
- Levels
- This game has 4 levels with unique layouts on each.
- The time limit for the first level is 10 minutes.
- The first level has 144 tiles or 72 tile pairs.
- The second level has 84 tiles or 42 tile pairs.
- The first two levels are quite easy but the game gets harder on the third and fourth levels.
- Open tiles not having a different shading color by default, tile layouts being low profile with a shallow drop between levels, and complex board designs which only leave a few tiles playable at a time before requiring another shuffle make the last couple levels hard.
- You beat a level by removing all tiles from the playing field.
- If there are multiple tiles remaining in a stack & no other tiles remain on the level then the level is also complete as shuffling can not display an open pair if the only remaining tiles are on top of each other.
- If you do not beat a level before the timer runs out you can choose to try again or end the game.
- When you replay a level the board layout changes.
- Scoring
- Your game score is cumulative across stages.
- Each tile pair match you make is worth 250 points.
- Each second you have remaining when you complete a level is worth 1 point.
- Shuffling tiles costs 500 points.
- Tile matching hints cost 100 points.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Solitaire tile matching games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
