Frogie Jumping Puzzle Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the PLAY button on the right side of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels.
  • Under the PLAY button is an INSTRUCTIONS button offering how to play advice.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your arrow keys on your keyboard to move in the direction you would like to move.
      • Valid moves have a green circle on the destination square.
      • Invalid moves have a red circle on the destination square.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger and slide your finger across the screen to move the frog.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left corner of the game has buttons for going to the level select screen and restarting the current level.
    • The current level number is shown in the top center of the screen.
    • Right of the level number is a mud puddle with a number in it, indicating how far you move on each jump.
    • The upper right corner of the screen has buttons for music control and sound control.

• Game Play
  • Basics
    • Your goal is to get the frog to the house using a series of valid moves.
      • Valid moves have a green circle on the destination square.
      • You may only move onto wooden tiles. The blue watery tiles can not be walked on.
    • Special squares
      • Some squares have a mud puddle along with a plus or a minus symbol on them, which cause your movements to be increased or decreased by one.
      • Some squares have a mud puddle along with a number on them, which cause your movements to be set to the number shown.
      • Some squares have an arrow on them, which push you an additional square over in the direction the arrow faces. These move you one square in the direction the arrow points, but do not impact your movements per step on a forward basis.
      • Some squares have a series of numbers connected by arrows. These squares indicate how the frog’s moves will rotate across turns.
        • For example a 3, 4 means the frog would move 3 steps every other turn and 4 steps every other turn.
        • A 3, 4, 5 means the frog moves 3 squares one move, 4 squares the next move, then 5 squares on the final move in the sequence. The sequence then repeats.
      • You can not step on flowers, though moving toward them and onto an adjacent cell will push them out of your way.
        • You can’t push flowers out of your way if the tile behind the flowers also has flowers.
        • Flowers can be pushed onto red pipes to cause other objects to disappear.
      • Red pipes allow you to highlight a false bush which reveals an exit location.
  • Levels
    • This game has 24 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by making it to the house at the end of the stage.
      • The mud footprints must be stepped on in the correct order, as sometimes stepping in the wrong order will make it impossible to make it back to the house.
  • Tips
    • Stuck?
      • If you can not figure your way around the stage sometimes moving randomly can help you find the way just by seeing where the red and green circles appear.
      • On most levels you need to use all the mud footprints to complete the journey, though some stages (like level 9) do not require it.
    • Some of the squares you need to walk on & some destination houses may be hidden behind a button in the upper left or upper right corner of the screen.
    • In later levels with a pipe on them you’ll need to place a flower over the pipe to make bushes transparent so you can pass through them.
