Fruit Adventure Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Tap or left click anywhere on the game welcome screen. This will bring up the level select screen.
  • When the game starts only the first level is accessible. Each subsequent level is unlocked when you beat the prior level.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your total points scored, total stars collected, and level progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Tap the left and right arrow keys to move left or right.
    • Tap the up arrow key once to jump and tap it a second time to double jump.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on screen controls to control the strawberry.
    • The left and right move buttons are in the lower left corner of the screen.
    • The jump button is in the lower right corner of the screen. Press once to jump & press twice to double jump.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Across the top of the screen it shows how many of your three heart containers you have left, how many stars you collected, what level you are on, how much time you have remaining in the current level, if you found the key, and your cumulative game score.
    • In the upper right corner of the game there is a menu button which pauses the game & brings up the game controls for turning game music and game sounds on or off.

  • General Strategy
    • Health
      • Spikes, falling chocolate blocks, or falling off platform kills you with a single hit.
      • Most other enemies need to hit you at least 3 times.
      • If you die you start at the beginning of the current level.
      • You get unlimited continues.
    • All levels have the same time limit.
      • The first few levels are short and easy to complete 100%.
      • The last couple levels can take nearly the full 2 minutes to beat even if you do not collect everything, so it may make sense to try to beat the final couple levels without collecting everything and then come back to it.
    • Unstable ground
      • Some light brown squares quickly disappear after you step on them.
      • On the final level you have to map out your strategy well to collect the key, avoid getting hit by the flying enemy, and jump up toward the end of the level.
    • Chocolate blocks
      • Chocolate blocks fall when you get near them.
      • On some chocolate blocks you have to jump close to them to get them to shake loose, and take advantage of the double jump feature to move back to another platform, then jump on them after they land.
      • There are parts of the final level where you have to do the activate move, back off, and step on sequence, then half way through a long run of chocolate blocks you have to simply run through them before they fall.
  • Levels
    • The game has 8 levels which must be beat sequentially.
    • Each level has a 2 minute time limit.
    • After you beat a level you can go back and replay it any time.
  • Scoring Points
    • Each star you collect is worth 25 points.
    • Each enemy you defeat is worth 100 points.
    • Unlocking the gate before the level exit is worth 100 points.
    • Stomping on the button at the end of the level is worth 250 points.
    • If you beat a level multiple times your cumulative game score will keep increasing to reflect scoring more total points.
