- Pickups
- When enemies or asteroids are destroyed they drop coins or other pickups.
- Coins can be used to purchase ship upgrades.
- Whenever you die you are also awarded 1 coin for each interceptor downed, 10 coins for each starship downed, and 100 coins for each boss downed.
- Other pickups provide a variety of ship upgrades.
- Green: defense shield
- Red: restores health. Health lasts until you get hit.
- Pink: laser beam, which lasts a few seconds.
- Dark blue: magnet which helps attract other pickups & clears the screen of debris making it easier to focus on risks.
- Light blue: Improves your firepower. This lasts until either you die or you switch between level sets (e.g. after beating level 13-5 when you get to level 14-1 you will have your firepower reset to the same level as it would be if you died).
- Other than health and guns most other pickups tend to last for a few seconds & extend in duration as you upgrade those ship features.
- You can stack the dark blue magnet & some other upgrades to where you end up with them working for 20 or 30 seconds straight.
- How much time each upgrade has remaining is shown at the top of the screen.
- Guns reset each time you change levels, but the other pickups can last across levels.
- Deaths & Continues
- You get unlimited continues in this game.
- When you continue you start at the first level in that level set. If you die on level 13-3 you will restart at level 13-1.
- Each time you die you can use your coin earnings to upgrade your ship (upgrades listed below).
- If you beat the fifth wave on level 15 you go right back to level 1. You do not get to use your coins to upgrade your ship until after you die & you can play the game multiple times through without dying.
- Enemies
- Other than main bosses & the starships most enemies in each level only fire straight downward.
- The ships which do shoot at an angle tend to be higher power shooters which can kill you in 1 or 2 hits, so it is important to avoid any enemy shot which is at an angle.
- The more powerful enemy ships (known as starships) have a health bar indicator beneath them.
- In most cases it is not worth chasing a pickup if you are going to get hit to grab it.
- The final wave within a level is an asteroid field you have to shoot your way through. Even the boss battles have an asteroid field at the end of them.
- Boss Battles
- At the end of every fifth set of levels there is a boss battle. There are a total of 3 bosses you will face.
- The first boss is quite easy as he only shoots straight down and sets free a few weaker ships you can easily shoot.
- Try to avoid his straight shots down, and hit him with your side drones if he is near and shoot him head on if he is further away and you have time to react to him.
- The second boss has a big shot he shoots at an angle & a starburst shot. Ideally you can avoid both and stay to the wide side of the screen while once again shooting him with drones when he is near and doing a head on shot when he is a bit further away.
- As a rule of thumb you may survive dodging a big shot and accidentally bumping one of the starburst shots, but you’ll almost certainly die if you do the opposite.
- The third boss is much harder than the other two as he seems to have about 10x to 30x more hit points.
- He has the same starburst shot the second boss has, but as his high power shot he shoots the sort of shot the first boss does straight down, except he shoots four of them at the same time, which takes up a lot of screen width.
- The way to beat him is similar to the way you beat the second boss, except the battle is a bit unending as you have to hit him hundreds of times for him to die.
- Bosses tend to have high power shots which can kill you in one or two hits.
- Try to avoid directly shooting the bosses and use your side gun if they shoot a high-powered shot.
- If they are on one side of the screen and are about to shoot try to move to the opposite side of the screen.
- It is better to be more aggressive at attacking them when they are near the top of the screen as you have more time to react to their shots & then play more defensively when they are near the bottom of the screen.
- Upgrades
- You can upgrade 6 different features:
- Armor: endure more damage.
- Front gun: stronger front shooting.
- Drones: stronger side shots.
- Magnet: longer lasting cash pulling.
- Shield: longer lasting invulnerability.
- Laser: longer lasting laser gun.
- Features can be upgraded 10 times each.
- Upgrades last between games.
- Upgrades cost a sliding scale for each feature. Upgrading each feature cost 150, 300, 500, 700, 900, 1000, 1200, 1500, 1700, 2000, and 2400 for levels 1 through 10.
- Fully upgrading each feature costs 12,350, so fully upgrading all 6 costs 74,100.
- Strategy
- Ensure you upgrade the drones and front gun early in the game as they allow you to damage enemies and clear out part of each level quickly.
- Keep moving side to side while collecting whichever pickups are easy to obtain. If multiple pick ups are dropped at the same time aim for the light blue magnet pick up as that will cause the other pick ups to gravitate toward you.
- Track the firepower of the most powerful ships and time your movements to evade their shots.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for space shooter gamers of all ages.
- The game has no adult themed content.
