- Basic rules
- Connect 2 identical cards using a line.
- In most cases, there must be free space on one side of the card to match it with another.
- Only cards that are directly adjacent to one another can be connected without any open spaces between them.
- To connect the cards, the line drawn between them must only have no more than two 90 degree angles.
- Clear all the cards from the stack before the timer runs out.
- Each time you make a pair, you replenish your timer.
- If you’re unable to find a pair before the timer runs out, it’s game over.
- Scoring
- Each pair of cards is worth 100 points.
- Levels contain 112 stones on them in a 16×7 grid, meaning you can score 5,600 points by matching all pairs.
- Once you finish, you will also receive bonus points. These are based on the amount of time left on the timer bar.
- You regain a little more time with each pair you make.
- You can score over 1,700 in time bonus per level.
- Your game score is cumulative across all levels.
- Strategy
- Basics
- The easiest tiles to match are corner pieces since they can match in either direction.
- The next easiest tiles to match are side tiles since they have an open edge which is along a number of other tiles sharing that open edge.
- Pieces in the center of the playing field are hardest to match since they can only match with their 4 adjacent cards unless you have cleared out some other space next to them.
- Some levels keep the remaining tiles in their original positions when you remove tiles from the playing field, while other tiles fill in a particular direction.
- If you are playing on a level where cards do not fill in consider trying to create empty rows or columns in the middle of the board to enable you to make many additional matches.
- Gravity
- Where the cards “fall” when an adjacent card is removed will influence how you play the game.
- Different levels fill in different directions.
- Some levels have cards fall down, while others may float up.
- Other levels will have only half the cards fall down, while the others fall up.
- Cards can also fill left, right, or left & right.
- A few levels have no gravity at all. The cards stay in place when you remove the ones next to them.
- If you are playing a level with a gravity or fill feature it is best to try to make pairs using the far end of the board first and not make matches on the near end that is filled in until the easy perpendicular matches on the far end have been made.
- Assistance
- Basics
- Each form of assistance will cost you points.
- That said, they are an economical investment as finishing quickly will help you earn more points
- You star with only 6 hints and shuffles, and regain one of each with every level you finish.
- Hints
- Hints will show you where one valid pair is.
- Hints cost 100 points off your score.
- Shuffling
- Shuffling rearranges the entire stack This lets you find and form new pairs quickly.
- The game automatically shuffles the stack when you run out of valid pairs.
- Manually shuffling will cost you 500 points.
- Strategy
- First, find all the adjacent and edge pairs as soon as you can. Make the easy matches early on to begin freeing up the stack.
- As mentioned in the gravity section, figure out where the cards “fall” when you remove adjacent cards.
- If the cards aren’t stationary, prioritize the middle cards that form pairs over edge ones that do.
- Otherwise, focus on the edge and corner cards.
- If you ever get stuck, use a hint or shuffle the cards. Don’t spend too long a time looking for pairs.
- Try to free up as much space as you can as you go along. This will open up other cards and make more matches possible.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Connect tile matching games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
