Happy Monsters Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Left click or tap anywhere to load the welcome screen.
  • On the welcome screen:
    • Select the play button to begin.
    • Select the music button on the top right corner to turn the game’s audio on or off.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.

    • With your mouse, left click and drag the purple monster to move them.

    • Tap and swipe on the screen with your fingers to move the purple monster.

    • Hamburger button: quits the level and returns you to the level selection screen

• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Drag and drop a happy purple monster to turn the rows of green grumpy monsters into purple ones.
    • Each purple monster has an orange-colored indicator on their box.
      • This points to where the monster will convert all others near them.
      • A purple monster with an indicator on the left will convert all the green monsters to its left.
      • Some monsters have multiple indicators. Place these in strategic locations to convert several monsters at once.
      • Purple monsters do not need to be connected to green monsters in the same row to convert them.
    • If you misplace the monsters, you can’t finish the level.
      • Select the reset button to try the level again.
    • Transform all the rows into purple monsters using only the purple monsters you have on hand to clear the level.
  • Levels
    • Levels are unlocked in sequence:
      • You start with only the first level unlocked.
      • Finish one level to unlock the next.
    • There are 27 levels in this game.
      • You can replay any of the levels you’ve unlocked.
  • Level features
    • Gaps – purple monster paint can pass through gaps on the board.
    • Stone – purple monster paint can’t pass through stones.
    • Ice – purple monster paint breaks ice, then stops. If you shoot another purple monster across the newly created gap where the ice was the purple paint will flow across.
  • Tips
    • The purple monster effect can skip over gaps in the playing field, but can not pass through rocks.
    • A monster can be painted purple multiple times & the purple monster impact continues onto subsequent monsters in the same direction.
    • On most levels it makes sense to break the ice early in the level, however on some stages (like level 17) you can turn all the monsters purple without needing to break the ice beforehand & on some levels (like level 25) you will have some unbroken ice remaining at the end of the level even after you beat the level.
    • You can not place a purple monster on a gap, ice block, or stone. You can place a purple monster on any green or purple monster.
