Hidden Spots Jewelry Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
  • Select Help to open the tutorial screen.
  • Select High Scores to view the game’s leaderboard.
  • Pick a language from the drop down list on the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
    • Each time you reload the game, it gives you two options. You can resume from where you last left off or you can start from the beginning.

• Game Play
  • Levels
    • Only the first level is available at the start of the game.
      • The only way to move to the next level is by finishing the one you’re currently playing.
    • Each level has 12 objects hidden in it.
      • 6 at a time in the finding window at the bottom of the screen.
      • Objects may not be shown to scale, but the color and orientation or angle are the same in the window and picture.
    • The game ends when you finish all 10 levels in the game or if you run out of time.
      • Once you finish the game, you can choose to save your final score on the leaderboard.
      • If you lose a level you can select try again to continue your game.
    • Level timing
      • The first level gives you 6 minutes to complete it.
      • Each subsequent level gives you 10 seconds less to beat it, meaning you must complete the final level within 4:30.
      • Each incorrect click costs you 10 seconds off your remaining time.
  • Basic rules
    • Your task is to find where the specific picture of gems shown on the bottom row are on the image.
      • To find a gem, simply left click or tap wherever it happens to be.
      • There are 2 sets of items to look for. Each time you find one gem, it disappears and gets replaced. This goes on until all the gems from both sets are found.
      • Find all the gems to clear the level.
    • Selecting anywhere else will deduct 10 seconds from your remaining time.
  • Strategy
    • If you are stuck try to look for the most distinguishing part of an object. You can match based off of features like:
      • color
      • shape
      • reflection
      • orientation
      • edges
      • texture
    • Finding order
      • You can find the displayed hidden objects in any order.
      • If you are struggling to find a particular item move on to other items first & then circle back to the hard item.
      • It is best to start with the easiest & most distinctive items first so you ensure you make progress.
    • View
      • You can zoom in and out an unlimited number of times, though be sure you hold the click for an extended period of time while changing states so the activity does not count as a misclick.
      • If you are playing on a small screen try to increase screen brightness and/or contrast to improve your ability to find items.
      • If you are not playing in full screen mode you can click on the full screen mode button to view an enlarged version of the playing field.
  • Scoring
    • Finding a gem yields 500 points each.
    • You gain an extra 15 points for every second left on the timer, so incorrect clicks cost you 150 points.
    • Each level has its own score. You can view your best scores on each on the level screen.
    • Your game also saves your total score for all the levels.
    • You can replay poorly scoring levels to improve your total game score, however you can not replay any levels after beating the final level.
  • Hints
    • Hints can help you find gems that are proving difficult to spot.
      • When you select the hint button, the game will highlight any of gems you want to search for.
      • Select one of the items and the game will briefly highlight its location on the screen.
    • The hint button needs to recharge for a few seconds before you can use it again.
    • Each hint costs 1,000 points.
