Hit and Run Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select anywhere on the screen to load the welcome screen.
  • On the welcome screen, choose a difficulty level to begin.
  • Select the speaker button on the top right corner to turn the sound on and off.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and high score.
• Game Controls

    • Move using the following controls:
      • Left click and hold with your mouse.
      • Use the arrow keys. You can move in any of the 4 core directions and you can move diagonally by holding down 2 keys at the same time.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Move by tapping on the screen with your fingers.
• Game Play
  • Setting up
    • Choose from one of 3 difficulty levels on the welcome screen.
      • Easy
      • Medium
      • Hard
    • Pick a character
      • Only one character is playable at the start of the game.
      • You can unlock 8 other characters.
        • You unlock a new character for every point you earn that’s a multiple of 5, starting at 10.
        • The first character is unlocked at 10 points.
        • The last character is unlocked after 35 points.
        • When you lose your points score goes back to zero, but your unlocked characters remain unlocked.
      • Each character has a unique combination of speed, size and fury.
        • Smaller character size & faster speed give you a greater ability to evade the fuzz.
      • Once you’ve selected a character, select Play to get started.
  • Basic rules
    • Move around the field and avoid the cops.
      • Don’t let the cops touch you. If they do you are busted & it is game over.
      • Most cops have a fairly consistent speed they move at across a straight horizontal or vertical line, going back and forth bouncing from near the edges of the screen.
      • Since the playing field is wider than tall its easier to accidentally get hit by a vertically moving police officer than a horizontally moving one.
      • Red cops periodically move at a faster pace.
    • Collect the plus tokens to earn points.
      • Each time you collect a token, another cop appears. Sometimes cops appear almost right on top of you, so ensure you have multiple paths out in case you need to make an immediate evasive move.
      • Collecting a token also fills up a part of the bar on the top center.
      • Fill up the bar on the top center completely to gain the ability to consume an enemy.
    • Keep dodging the cops and collecting tokens
