Hunting Jack in the City Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
  • Select Help to open the tutorial screen.
  • Select High Scores to view the game’s leaderboard.
  • Pick a language from the drop down list on the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
    • Each time you reload the game, it gives you two options. You can resume from where you last left off or you can start from the beginning.
    • Once you finish playing all the levels (or fail to finish one), you can add your final score to the leaderboard.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse:
      • Left click to find a dog.
      • Left click and hold to zoom in or out.
      • Left click, hold, and drag to move while zoomed in.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers:
      • Tap on a dog to find it.
      • Pinch to zoom in or out.
      • Tap and swipe to move around while zoomed in.
  • Controls and indicators
    • The controls are found on bottom row. From the top, these are as follows:
      • Score
      • Timer
      • Item list
      • Hint button: Select this to get a hint.
      • Pause button: Select this to pause the game
      • Level number
      • Music and sound buttons: Select these to turn the game’s audio on and off.
    • On the top right corner is the enlarge button. This lets you switch between windowed and full-screen modes.
• Game Play
  • Levels
    • Only the first level is available at the start of the game.
      • The first level gives you 5 minutes to complete it and each subsequent level gives you 10 seconds less to where you must complete the final stage in 3:30.
    • The only way to move to the next level is by finishing the one you’re currently playing.
      • The game ends when you finish all 10 levels in the game or if you run out of time.
      • Once you finish the game, you can choose to save your final score on the leaderboard.
    • You can replay a previously beat level to try to earn a higher score on it.
      • To replay a level you must click on it twice.
      • If you click on a level once then click on the play button you will go to the next unbeaten level.
      • After completing the final level you can’t replay other levels.
  • Basic rules
    • Find all the dogs hidden in the image before the timer runs out.
      • To find a dog, simply left click or tap on it.
      • Dogs are shown in the image using the same colors and angles and perspective as shown at the bottom of the screen.
        • If you see a partial picture of a dog it means it is near another object and you can use the shape of the edge to help find that dog.
      • Each time you find a dog, it disappears from the image and the list.
        • You must search for 2 sets of 6 dogs, or a total of 12 per stage.
      • Each dog you find is replaced by another until all the dogs are found.
    • Selecting the wrong dogs or parts of the screen which are not dogs deducts 5 seconds from your remaining time.
  • Scoring
    • Finding a dog yields 500 points each, for a total base score of 6,000 per level.
    • You gain an extra 15 points for every second left on the timer when you beat a level.
  • Hints
    • Hints can help you find items that are proving difficult to spot.
      • When you select the hint button, the game will let you pick which dog you want to find.
      • The game will automatically zoom out when you select this option.
      • Once you selected the dog, it will be highlighted in red for a brief time.
    • The hint button needs to recharge before you can use it again.
    • Each hint costs 1,000 points.

  • The game is suited for players who like dogs or find the hidden objects games.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
