Jake & The Neverland Pirates Puttin’ Pirates Game for Kids Game Play Instructions
How to Play
Adjust the ball elsewhere in the putting box if you want to. Then either tap where you want the ball to go, or click on the ball and pull back to set the shot strength and angle.
- Starting the Game
- Click on the wooden button with the green triangle on the welcome screen to start the game.
- On the next screen you choose between 1 and 5 players.
- Next you choose which character you want to play: Jake, Izzy, Cubby, Captain Hook, or Mister Smee. Once again click on the button with the green triangle on it.
- Choose to play in practice or match mode.
- Practice allows you to focus on one of the specific holes.
- Match mode has you play all 9 holes.
- Game Controls
- Desktop
- If you are happy with the default placement of the ball you do not have to move it, though if you want to you can tap a different part of the putting green (err purple) box to start the ball in an alternate position.
- There are two ways to shoot the ball in the game while playing as desktop.
- Method 1: Click to select the ball, then pull back and adjust your angle & release the left click to fire the ball.
- Method 2: Ignore the ball and simply click on where you want it to go on the screen. If you want it to go toward a specific area but want to go harder than the force to get there then click in a straight line beyond the target in order to hit the target with more force.
- The second method is far easier & more precise since your aim is near the ball destination rather than the ball source, plus in some cases the putting area is quite close to the edge of the screen, making it hard to pull back and add more force without accidentally scrolling off screen and resetting your putt.
- Touchscreen
- Use your finger like a mouse.
- Multiplayer mode
- When you play in multiplayer mode the controls in the game are the exact same.
- You can not hit each other’s balls & you alternate turns.
- The player who is not in turn has a shadow of their ball remain on the screen while the other player putts.
- The game has a pause button in the upper left corner, mentions how many strokes you have used in the upper right corner, shows who is putting in the lower left corner, and has a how to play menu in the lower right corner. When the game is paused it brings up a menu enabling you to restart the level, resume the game, exit the current game, or turn sounds on or off.
- Minigolf Game Strategy by Hole
- Hole 1: Hit the topmost claw of the crab and the ball can bounce off it over for a hole in 1.
- Hole 2: Rather than pulling back and setting your swing what I did on this hole was set the cursor where I wanted the ball to travel toward and then pressed the left click. I did it about 12 percent left of center on the spinning carousel and got a hole in one. This one took me about 10 tries.
- Hole 3: I was unable to get a hole in 1 on this hole, but you can get a 3 star rating with a hole in 2. Aim for the right edge of the third rock on the left rail, but put your cursor way past it to the north then click so that the swing is really hard. If you time it right you’ll get past the first 2 coconuts on the first shot & have a straight shot in on the second putt. This one took me about a dozen tries.
- Hole 4: Bounce the ball off the wall to the left side of the closest blue head & have the ball fall down into the hole that is jus left and south of where your putt started. The ball will go out the angled side passage for a hole in 1.
- Hole 5: I set the ball slightly below the bottom of the first purple line in the putting area, then clicked where the knot was about half way in the log crossing the stream. This one took about 20 tries & is somewhat hard to get if you set your aim on the far side of the creek as it feels like there is an optical illusion with the level design where it somehow turns more than it appears to.
- Hole 6: Click on the purple hole at the top center of the screen, timing your shot for when the wheel will not hit your ball as it passes by it.
- Hole 7: This one is mostly a game of timing. Get around the timing issue slightly by not spending much time in the gravity drain. Click on the left wall toward the middle of the middle leaf and the ball will bounce off of that right into the first hole, then it is simply a matter of timing when the output cannon is aimed at the hole. I found if I did the click the microsecond the level loaded I had good luck getting that shot to go in.
- Hole 8: Shoot the hole hard into the volcano top. The ball will come out below the hole and move up for a hole in 1.
- Hole 9: This hole is also one where I settled on getting a hole in 2, though that was good enough for a 3-star rating. Move the ball to the front bottom of the putting box. Aim for the bottom side of the sharp gray rock near the wood which is shaped like an L. If you hit the ball correctly off that the ball moves down, hits the bottom row of rocks, and then makes it most of the way to Tick-Tock the Crocodile’s mouth. One more easy put into the mouth and you are in.
