Jewel Christmas Match 3 Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select anywhere on the title screen to load the welcome screen
  • On the welcome screen, select the red and gold play button at the top of the screen.
  • Below the play button are 3 other buttons:
    • The information button on the left shows you the game’s instructions.
    • The vanity plate button to the right shows the developer’s name and logo.
    • Toggle the game’s audio via the sound button below the other two buttons.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and best scores.

    • Using your mouse:
      • Left click to select any of the decorations.
      • Left click on where you want it to go.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap and drag the decorations with your fingers to move it.
• Game Play
  • Game mode selection
    • Levels are sorted according to their game mode. Select a game mode to begin.
    • When you finish a level, you play the next one automatically.
  • Interface
    • The meter can be seen on the top center of the screen.
      • For some levels, the meter acts as a timer.
      • In other levels, the meter must be filled to clear the level.
    • Your score is visible on the bottom left.
    • The pause button is on the bottom right.
    • Unlike other games of its type, its fields are always rectangular.
  • Basic
    • Form rows of 3 or more decorations to clear them from the playing field.
      • You can only move decoration at a time..
      • If you remove more than 3 of the same kind of decorations in a single move, you receive a power up as a reward. These are essential to maximizing the number of points you ear in the game.
      • The game will show you a hint if you go too long without making a move.
      • If you run out of places to make valid moves, the game reshuffles the entire board.
    • Fill the meter at the top center of the screen to finish the level.
    • At the end of each level is a “Happy Moment,” which gives you a massive bonus.
      • This involves detonating any of the power ups that you haven’t already used by the end of the level.
      • The snow globe power up is the only one that isn’t used (see below).
  • Game modes
    • Infinity
      • You have neither a time limit or a move limit. Have fun!
      • Keep playing until you clear the level.
    • Action
      • The meter slowly decays.
      • Each row you remove adds to the meter.
      • Keep making rows to bolster your score and keep the meter full.
    • Escape
      • Here, the meter acts as a timer. The timer measures the number of seconds you have before the bubbled decorations move upward.
      • Stop a specified number of bubbled decorations from ascending.
        • The bubbled decorations will slowly float upwards.
        • Don’t let the bubbled decorations reach the top of the screen.
        • Letting these decorations rise up might work to your advantage. They will
    • Downfall
      • Again, the meter acts as a timer.
      • Bring down the required number of stars to clear the level.
      • You can swap the stars around but they can only be cleared if you bring them to the bottom of the playing field.
    • Blocker
      • Like the previous two modes, the meter acts like a timer.
      • Remove all the ice blocks in the level to win.
      • To remove an ice block, form a row of decorations inside them. You may need to create multiple rows.
      • Unlike in our other connect-3 tile matching games that have this mode, the blocks here can take much longer to clear.
  • Scoring
    • Removing a row of decorations starts off at 60 points, or about 20 points each for every decoration.
      • You receive an extra 40 points if you clear a row of 4, and so on.
      • Any new row that forms automatically after your move will increase in point value.
        • The row of 3 that forms after your first will be worth 48 points per decoration. The row after that will be worth 84 points per decoration, and so on.
        • You can get a lot of points from this, especially when you factor in things like power ups clearing large swaths of the playing field in one go
    • Scoring is cumulative. Your score in each level carries over to the next one.
    • Your high score for each game mode is visible from the mode selections screen.
    • Clear your high score by selecting New Game when starting a game mode. This resets the entire mode to Level 1.
  • Power ups
    • The game rewards you with 3 kinds of power ups to help you with the game.
    • You unlock each of the power ups in-game in a different way.
      • 4-point sparkling decorations
        • You receive them after clearing an L-shaped cluster of identical decorations (formed by a horizontal or vertical row that share a single decoration).
        • They appear in place of the decoration you moved last.
        • When activated, they take out an entire row and column in the playing field.
        • They can also explode when another similar power up is activated next to them.
      • 6-point sparkling decorations
        • You unlock these when you clear a row of 4 identical decoration
        • These take out decorations from a 1-tile radius from their location.
      • Snow globes
        • You win a snow globe when you clear a row of 5 identical decorations.
        • If you move it, it will remove all the decorations of the type it swapped places with on the field.
        • To maximize its effects, choose the decoration it swaps places with carefully. Choose the most common of the decorations.
        • Because of the way it works, it does not activate during the Happy Moment at the end of the level.
    • Here is how you activate the power ups:
      • Sparkling decorations must align with the same type of decoration. They must form a valid row of 3 decorations to work.
      • Snow globes can activate with any decoration it trades places with.
