Origami (折り紙) is a catch-all term for papercraft projects that involves folding stiff paper squares into various figures. Many modern origami styles had their origins in Japan. Today, modern origami artists use paper squares and rely entirely on folding to achieve the desired shape. Papercraft that requires folding and cutting to achieve the final design is instead called kirigami (切り紙)
All 4 of the projects featured in this game fit the modern definition of origami. Because of its lack of sharp implements, origami is a fun and safe way to introduce children to papercraft.
