Lineum Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the green button on the game loading screen to bring up the game welcome screen.
  • Select the green button on the game welcome screen to bring up the difficulty select screen.
    • The welcome screen has 2 other buttons for settings and unlocked achievements.
      • The settings button allows you to turn game sound and game music on or off.
      • Achievements are listed later on in our review.
  • Select the difficulty level you would like to play.
    • Novice: 10 stages.
    • Easy: 25 stages.
    • Normal: 30 stages.
    • Hard: 60 stages.
    • Stages within each difficulty level are unlocked sequentially.
    • When you beat all stages inside a difficulty level the difficulty select button will show a yellow star in the lower right corner.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels and unlocked achievements.

  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select a starting square you would like to flip and draw a path across the other squares to turn all blue squares green.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger and drag your finger across the screen to select squares and draw your path.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Across the top of the screen inside level mode there are 4 buttons
      • return to level select screen
      • restart level
      • game settings
      • get a hint on where to start the level
• Game Play
  • Stone types
    • Blue stones – your goal is to make all the blue stones green by spinning them over.
    • Green stones – when a stone is green it can turn blue if you pass over it.
    • Gray / brown stones – you can pass across them & they will not flip over nor change colors.
    • Light brown stones – level background design which you can not pass over.
    • Red stones – similar to blue stones, though appears further into the game.
  • Path making
    • Your path does not need to create a closed loop.
    • You can pass across any stone color other than light brown.
      • Each time you pass across a blue or green stone it flips over.
    • You can cross a stone twice provided you cross at orthogonal right angles.
      • If you turned while crossing a stone you will not be able to cross that stone again.
      • On novice or easy you won’t likely need to cross the same stone often, but doing so is required on many of the hard levels.
  • Stages
    • This game has 125 stages across 4 different difficulty levels.
    • If you get stuck on a level you can click the hints button in the upper right corner to see where you should start & you can click on the reset button to play the level again.
    • This game offers unlimited continues.
    • A stage is considered beat when all blue stones have turned green.
  • Achievements
    • Novice: solve 10 novice puzzles.
    • Easy: solve 10 easy puzzles.
    • Normal 1: solve 10 normal puzzles.
    • Normal 2: solve 20 normal puzzles.
    • Normal 3: solve 30 normal puzzles.
    • Hard 1: solve 10 hard puzzles.
    • Hard 2: solve 20 hard puzzles.
    • Hard 3: solve 30 hard puzzles.
    • Hard 4: solve 40 hard puzzles.
    • Hard 5: solve 50 hard puzzles.
    • Battery Powered: solve “easy 6” by overlapping the line twice.
    • Shipping Costs: solve “novice 5” by overlapping the line three times.
    • Mad Hatter: solve “easy 15” by overlapping the line twice.
    • Protection: solve “easy 11” by overlapping the line twice.
    • Morel: solve “easy 5” by overlapping the line twice.
    • Shades: solve “normal 13” without using either of the neutral tiles.
    • Caffeine: solve “normal 8” without using the neutral tile.
    • Pisces: solve “easy 10” by overlapping the line on the fish’s eye.
    • Truckin’: solve “easy 7” by overlapping the window.
    • Recessive: solve “normal 27” by overlapping all four tiles in all three green squares.
    • Nocturnal: make a moth out of “hard 15” by turning all tiles green, except for 3,4 and 8,4.
    • Ace of Spades: solve “hard 52” two different ways: once crossing the line on the center neutral tile, and once without.
