• Starting the Game
  • Select the Play button near the lower left of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
  • Near the Play button are buttons for how to play Help, High Scores, and More Games.
  • The lower left corner of the welcome screen has a language select dropdown.
  • The lower right corner of the welcome screen has buttons for game settings, social media sharing, reading game developer information, and installing the game as a web app.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select stones for removal.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger to select stones for removal.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The left rail of the screen shows your level number, level score and remaining time at the top.
    • The bottom of the left rail contains buttons for sound control, music control, and full screen mode.
    • On the right rail at the top there is a pause button & at the bottom there is a butterfly button which allows you to turn the butterfly flying off the screen effect on or off. Most level types also have hint and shuffle buttons in the middle (although Mahjong Slide does not have these buttons). Mahjong Collapse also shows how many bombs you have remaining at the top of the right column.
    • The level select screen shows the cumulative game score, level score on each level, and the star rating earned on each level.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This game is a fusion of 5 different types of Mahjong games. Each type is described below.
    • To beat each level you have to clear the board of stones before the timer reaches zero.
  • Levels
    • This is a variety game where players can play up to 200 different stages.
      • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
      • If you fail a level you can try again or end the game. If you end the game you can submit your score, but ending the game also erases your game play data.
    • The level select screen shows the score earned on each stage & the associated star rating.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels to earn a better score & a higher star rating.
  • Scoring
    • Each match you make earns points.
    • You also earn points based on how much time is left on the clock when you beat a level.
    • Using hints or shuffles costs you points.
  • Mahjong Solitaire
    • Select identical stone pairs which are free to remove them from the field.
    • A stone is considered free if there is no stone on top of it and at least one side (left or right) is open.
    • Free stones have a lighter background color while stones that are not free have a gray background color.
    • Each pair you make is worth 100 points.
    • Shuffles cost 500 points and hints cost 200 points.
  • Mahjong Connect
    • Select a stone and an identical stone which can be connected by a single line that does not pass through other stones, and is either straight or turns at 90 degrees no more than twice.
    • Some levels have brown vine obstacle stuck stones which can’t be paired off or moved.
    • Each pair you make is worth 100 points.
    • Shuffles cost 500 points and hints cost 200 points.
  • Mahjong Collapse
    • This game operates like a breaker game.
    • Select a stone which has adjacent stones of the identical type & you will remove those stones from the board.
      • Stones which are adjacent and identical can be removed even if they are at different depth levels.
      • When you create gaps and there are stones above they fall or slide downward.
      • Empty columns are filled in by the columns on either side moving inward.
    • Larger match sets are worth more points. For example, matching 2 at a time is worth 10, matching 3 at a time is worth 40, matching 4 at a time is worth 90.
    • You can hold up to 8 bombs, which can be used to destroy individual isolated stones which are not near identical stones.
      • If you try to destroy an isolated stone and do not have any bombs you lose the level.
    • Shuffles cost 800 points and hints cost 200 points.
    • This level type is the hardest type to earn 3 stars on.
  • Mahjong Triple
    • This game operates similarly to Mahjong Solitaire, except you need to match 3 stones at a time.
    • Each set of 3 you match is worth 100 points.
    • Shuffles cost 500 points and hints cost 200 points.
  • Mahjong Slide
    • Select a stone and then drag it in any direction. Stones move until they hit the edge of the screen or run into another stone.
    • When identical stones are in adjacent positions on the same level or run into each other they are cleared from the board.
    • Each stone pair you make is worth 200 points.
    • This level type is the easiest to earn a high point score on.
