Mahjong Mania Tile Matching Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Tap anywhere on the game load screen to bring up the game welcome screen.
  • The welcome screen has 3 buttons: play, instructions, and options.
    • Play brings up the difficulty level menu where you can choose to play easy, medium, or hard.
      • When you choose a difficulty level it will bring up the level select screen.
      • You must beat each level sequentially to unlock the next level.
      • Beating a level on easy only unlocks the next level on easy.
      • You score level ratings based on how quickly you beat each level.
      • Your web browser automatically stores your game progress and level ratings.
    • Instructions explains how mahjong solitaire works. Find matching pairs of tiles to remove them from the field. Only ‘free’ tiles can be matched. A tile is ‘free’ if it’s not covered from above and at least from one of its sides (left or right).
    • Options allows you to turn music on or off & change game language.
    • If you select into the instructions or options page click on the gray and maroon arrow button in the lower left corner to return to the game’s welcome screen.

  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select an open tile, then select its matching pair.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with your fingers to select open tile pairs.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Across the top of the screen the game shows a timing bar which ticks downward over time & has markers on it for gold, silver and bronze ratings. You can unlock the subsequent level even if you beat a level too slowly to earn a medal on it.
    • The game has a pause button in the lower left corner.
    • When you beat a level click on the gray button in the lower left corner to go back to the level select menu.
• Game Play
  • Select open pairs to remove them.
    • The game uses brightness to indicate depth with deeper tiles being darker.
    • You can match tiles across multiple depth tiers provided both tiles are open.
    • If you do not make a pair for an extended period of time the game offers an assist which highlights a pair for you.
  • Tile matching
    • Most tiles must exactly match, however some tiles can match conceptually rather than precisely.
    • For example a tile with leaves on it may match a tile with trees, two tiles with different types of flowers might match, & a tile with stars on it may match a tile with the sun.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for mahjong solitaire players of all ages.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
