- On designed board layouts that are not a rectangle or square grid only the light gray cells may have mines. The dark gray cells exist simply for decoration.
- Getting started
- Select any cell on the grid. It will reveal either a number, a blank, or a mine.
- If you click on a mine, it’s game over.
- Use the numbers to identify the position of the mines in the field.
- The number indicates the number of mines the cell is adjacent to.
- For instance, a cell with a number 1 has one cell with a mine adjacent to it on any side or corner.
- Finding the mines
- If you find a cell you strongly suspect to be a mine, select the flag button.
- While the flag button is active, select the cell.
- Only attempt to mark possible mines when the flag button is active.
- When you’re done, select the flag button again to deactivate it.
- Each time you lay down a flag, the mine counter goes down by 1.
- When you’ve brought the counter down to 0, and the flags are in the correct place, you’ve won the game.
- Hints
- If you’re stumped, hit the hints button to show you, temporarily, the location of all the mines on the field.
- You only have 5 hints per session. We suggest you use them toward the end of the game.
- Strategy
- Start off by clicking anywhere at random.
- The chances of you hitting a mine on the first go are low, though not zero.
- If you’ve clicked on a blank, click around until number tiles are revealed.
- Clear out as many blank spaces as you can to narrow down your search.
- Use logic to determine the location of the mine.
- Some mines are obvious, like a single cell surrounded by cells with 1s in them.
- When clearing central cells, make sure to click at least one cell away from it, as the cell right next to the one could be the one with a mine.
- When in doubt, use the hint button.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like minesweeper games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
