  • Basics
    • Keep going down.

    • Avoid the bats.
    • Pick up collectible items to activate power ups.
    • Earn points each time you jump down.
      • View your score on the top center of the screen.
      • The lower you go, the higher your score.
  • Platforms.
    • Platforms wrap around each other. If you went all the way to the left, you’ll come out on the right.
    • Use this to your advantage when collecting items or looking for ledges to jump of.
    • Watch out for platforms with bats!
  • Avoiding the bats
    • Touch any of the bats, and it’s game over.
    • Dodging the bats is your main strategy:
      • Bats move in a linear pattern and stick to one side of the screen.
      • Often, to avoid them means timing your jump so that the bats are away from you.
      • Be careful, as you can’t wait too long to jump.
      • You can also move to the other side to avoid the bats altogether.
    • Use the bombs to take out all the on-screen bats at once.
    • The game will warn you of incoming bats by flashing a purple exclamation point in a word balloon.
  • Power ups
    • Collecting 5 smaller mushrooms in a row will have your mushroom character float downwards in a bubble
      • While in the bubble, your mushroom is invincible.
      • You will not earn points as you go down.
      • You will also remain in the same level you started in.
    • Collect 12 coins to freeze the game screen.
      • View the number of coins you’ve collect so far from the top right corner of the screen.
      • For a few seconds, the platforms will stop moving.
      • Use this to jump down without the platforms working against you.
      • This option can be a lifesaver if you’re moving closer to the top of the screen.
