Nature Cat’s Adventure Game for Kids Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Click the green yellow and white play button in the lower right corner of the game’s welcome screen.
  • On your first play this will show a cut scene which you can skip using the skip button in the lower right corner.
  • You must beat each level to unlock the next.
  • Your web browser automatically stores your level time and unlocked levels data.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use the mouse left click to talk to an animal and get the level goals.
    • Use the up arrow key on your keyboard to jump.
    • Use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to move left or right.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the screen to select levels and use your fingers like a mouse.
    • Once inside a level the left and right buttons are on the lower left corner of the screen & the jump button is in the lower right corner of the screen.
• Game Play
  • Level design
    • Each level is a jumping platform game where you have to run around collecting goods & then bring them to an animal.
      • In early levels they may be designed where you simply run right and jump a few times, though as you get to more complex levels you can end up needing to travel left and right a good distance in each to complete them.
      • Be sure you do not speak to the animal at the end of the level until after you have collected all the necessary goods or it may require you to restart the level to beat it.
    • Level props
      • Some levels have boulders in them you need to push to be able to jump from or to be able to hold a balance in a set position.
    • In some levels you will need to jump across vines.
      • Using the left and right arrow keys helps give the vines momentum.
      • In some cases the vines will be held up and you will need to go talk to a nearby bird to get it to knock the vines down into swinging position.
    • Dying
      • There is no time limit or dying, but if you fall into the water or step on a sharp object it slows you down and you also lose any items you collected as part of the movement which ended in the accident.
      • There are a number of obstacles which can slow you down. You can trip over rocks or logs, fall in the water, or touch spikes.
    • Jumping
      • When you jump from a vine it is easy to under-jump & on other jumps it is often easy to overjump.
      • When you jump you can use the arrow in the opposite direction of your jump to slow down your momentum while you are in air.
      • If you are too close to spikes or think you will jump beyond the target platform sometimes it can make sense to walk backward a bit and then jump from further away.
    • The faster you complete the level the greater your score.
      • You can score bronze, silver, or gold on each level.
      • You can replay any level to try to beat it faster.
  • Level goals
    • Squirrel – collect 4 acorns for winter
    • Robin – collect 4 worms for her chicks
    • Beaver – collect 5 logs for the dam
    • Frog – collect 6 lily pads for the pond
    • Skunk – collect 7 berries for dinner
    • Bluebird – collect 8 sticks & twigs for her nest
    • Raccoon – collect 8 apples for a snack
    • Deer – collect 8 leaves for lunch
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for children of all ages and for fans of the PBS series Nature Cat.
  • The game has no adult content.
