- Squad Recruitment
- A squad consists of 2 members: a squad leader and a partner.
- The squad leader is the playable character, whereas the squad partner acts as an cooperative AI.
- Your squad leader has hit points, while your partner does not.
- If your squad leader loses all their hit points, it’s game over. When you lose you start back at level 1-1.
- You can keep track of your hit points by looking at the health meter on the upper left corner.
- Move your squad leader to cover more ground.
- Formation
- You and your partner automatically fire at the enemy. You shoot directly to the right from whichever vertical plane you are on.
- Move around to where the enemy viruses are to shoot them while avoiding them & avoiding any projectiles they shoot at you.
- Shoot down as many viruses as you can.
- Viruses
- Most viruses go down in one shot.
- Making contact with a virus or touching one of the projectiles it shoots will cost you health.
- Some viruses attack you from a distance.
- Squad strikes
- Attack enough enemies and charge up your squad strikes.
- You can check the charge of your squad strike at the upper left corner of the screen, below your health meter.
- To activate the squad strike, stand close to your squad partner and fire.
- A squad strike clears the entire field of enemies at once.
- Collectibles and power-ups
- Collect emoticoins to upgrade your squad members.
- Emoticoins are dropped by the viruses after you beat them.
- You can gain also a large flux of emoticons through a collectible.
- Pick up collectibles to activate various effects.
- Squad Strike Charge: helps fill your squad strike meter faster.
- Coin-burst: fills the field with emoticoins.
- Healing: restores your health.
- Collect power ups to bolster your attack.
- There are 3 different powerups.
- Rapid Shot: lets you fire rounds faster
- Shield: provides temporary protection from contact with a virus.
- Triple Shot: fires 3 rounds at once at an angle.
- You can have multiple powerups active at once.
- Don’t get hit, or you’ll lose the powerups you have!
- Upgrading your characters
- You can choose to play as any of the following characters: April O’Neil, Babe, Kid Danger, Kenzie, Lincoln Loud, Lisa Loud, Phoebe Thunderman, Pink Ranger, Sandy Cheeks & SpongeBob SquarePants.
- Each character starts off as level 1 & can be upgraded twice.
- Upgrades are specific to each character.
- Upgrading to level 2 costs 10 & upgrading to level 3 costs 200.
- You can only upgrade characters after losing a game.
- Since you can only play 2 characters at any time it makes sense to focus your upgrades on the characters you would like to play.
- It should be easy to upgrade both you and your partner to level 2 after your first or second play.
- You should upgrade your character to level 3 before your teammate since only you have hitpoints and only your character can die.
- Levels & stages
- This game has 3 levels in it with 3 stages in each level.
- The levels are themed after SpongeBob SquarePants, Loud House, and Gameshaker.
- At the end of the third Gameshaker stage there is a final boss battle with a boss that has 3 stages of a health meter and takes around 100 shots to defeat.
- Having triple shot active is critical for making quick work of the final boss.
- Game strategy
- In general it makes sense to play most of the game from the left 20% of the screen and only move forward to collect power ups or coins, or to avoid getting hit by a vertically moving enemy that would have hit you near the back of the screen.
- Enemies which shoot at you should generally be defeated before the enemies that do not so that you can more easily move around the screen defensively or offensively.
- Most virus move in a pre-determined pattern, but some come out from near the left edge of the screen at the top or the bottom and then chase after you. If you can quickly get lateral space between you and them with you to the left then do that and shoot them, otherwise it makes sense to get vertical space between you and hope your teammate takes them out quickly.
- Your health is restored at the beginning of each stage, so if you have low health near the end of a stage try to play more conservatively to make it to the end.
- Try to get the triple shot & a defensive forcefield activated early in the third level and keep them through the final boss as the final boss is much more difficult than other enemies throughout the game & if you die on stage 3-3 you start back at stage 1-1.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for Nickelodeon fans of all ages.
- The game has no adult themed content.
