• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button beneath the game’s title to begin.

    • To move the van, left click on the game controls with your fingers or use your computer’s arrow keys.
    • Use the number pad on your keyboard to select tool options.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the game controls with your fingers to move the van.
    • Tap on the controls and switches.
• Game Play
  • Level selection
    • Each level is based on a different continent.
    • At the start of the game, only the Antarctica level is clear.
    • Once you’ve cleared the first level, the other five levels (except North America) become available.
  • Basic
    • You can control the movement of the van by selecting the arrow keys onscreen.
      • Select the right arrow to move forward.
      • Select the left arrow to turn around.
      • Select the up arrow to move the van up.
      • Select the down arrow to go back to your original position.
    • If you’re in a desktop, you can use the arrow keys on your keyboard.
    • Collect water droplets to activate the van’s jets.
      • When the jets are activated, you can fly over obstacles like shallow pits.
    • Collect various power ups to change your van’s cosmetic appearance.
      • Some “power ups” change your van’s size (ant mode) or nullifies your speed (snail mode).
      • These are temporary, however, and your van will revert to its old self in no time.
  • Exploring the level
    • To clear the level, you must get to the other side.
    • The end of the level is marked by a checkerboard finish line.
    • Along the way are other, branching paths.
      • You can access these paths through switchbacks and secret passages.
        • To activate a switchback, left click or tap on the direction you want to go (up or down), then select or press the right arrow key.
        • You can access secret passages by turning around. You can often see caves when you move toward the left.
      • Some of these form loop-dee-loops, much like the old-school Sonic the Hedgehog games.
      • The branching paths are often your only way to reach the other souvenirs in the level.
  • Machine junctures
    • Each level is themed for a specific simple machine.
      • Antarctica: Ramp (inclined plane)
        • Choose the right inclined plane to get you across an obstacle.
      • Asia: Lever and fulcrum
        • Pick the lever length that will push the item far enough to cover a hole.
      • Africa: Pulley
        • Weigh a pulley down enough to get you to the desired level.
      • Europe: Wheel and Axle
        • Pick the right wheel size to push the cart to the switch in one turn.
      • Australia: Screw
        • Move the screw up and down to get to the desired level.
      • South America: Wedge
        • Use the right weight on the wedge to split the rock into a usable platform.
    • The final level, set in North America, uses all the simple machines.
    • Use the tools to surmount an obstacle.
    • Pick among 3 options, then select the arrow button to test them out.
      • The game will show you the path each choice will take.
      • If your choice gets you stuck, you must start over.
    • Some tools have more than one valid path. You can use these to find alternate routes across the level.
  • Collecting
    • To earn a 5-star rating in each level, you must collect all the souvenirs.
    • Souvenirs are usually located in out-of-the-way corners of the level.
      • Prepare to do a lot of backtracking to collect them all.
      • It pays to do a bit of exploring.
      • Don’t expect to collect them all in your first try.
    • Once you’ve collected one souvenir, you don’t need to collect it again on your next playthrough.
