- Game Play
- Open stones
- An open stone is a stone which has no stones directly on top of it and at least one side (left or right) does not have a tile next to it.
- You can only select open stones.
- Open stones have a lighter background color whereas closed stones have a darker background color.
- When you select open stones they are highlighted with an orange border.
- Concept matching
- In most Mahjong Solitaire games the objects shown on the tiles must identically match.
- In this game the goal is to match tiles which are conceptually related, but opposites in day to day life, state, or as explained in a childhood story.
- Example matches include:
- cop & robber
- full battery & empty battery
- full shopping cart & empty shopping cart
- fire & water
- turtle & rabbit
- happy face & sad face
- girl & boy
- wolf & sheep
- volcano & ice mountain
- sun & moon
- angel & demon bat
- cat & mouse
- green leaf & dead leaf
- Levels
- Each level has a unique board layout and level timer.
- The first stage gives you 2:00 to complete it.
- The level time increases by 5 seconds on each subsequent level.
- By the time you get to level 10 the play time limit increases to 2:50.
- This game has a total of 50 levels to play through.
- If you fail a level you can either try again to continue your game, or select the end game button.
- If you click the End Game button it clears out your game progress & you would start back at the first level the next time you play the game.
- A level is considered beat if you remove all the tiles before the timer runs out.
- If it is impossible to make a match without shuffling the tiles you will get an automatic shuffle.
- This means that if the tiles do not shuffle at least one open match remains.
- If an automated shuffle can not create a match (like when all remaining tiles are on top of each other or share a single common top tile above them) then it means the level is beat, even if tiles remain on it.
- Strategy
- Typically it makes sense to match from the edges of the widest columns and deepest stacks first to help open up the playing field.
- Since you are matching concepts, if you get stuck on a particular tile skip over it and match other tiles first, or use our above example matches list to help you identify what goes with what.
- Other than the time used during trial and error, you are not penalized for trying to match incorrect tiles.
- Scoring
- Your game score is cumulative across levels.
- Each tile pair you make is worth 100 points.
- Your remaining time when you complete a level is worth 30 points per second.
- Hints cost 200 points.
- Shuffling tiles costs 300 points.
- You can submit your high score when your game ends, either by losing a level or by completing all 50 levels.
- If you click the End Game button it clears out your game progress & you would start back at the first level the next time you play the game.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Solitaire games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
