Orc Invasion Tower Defense Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Press the orange button with the white arrow on it.
  • Your high score is stored in your local web browser.
• Game Controls
  • General
    • If you switch to another tab the game pauses. There is also a pause button in the upper right corner.
    • The game has 3 power ups in the upper right corner: knight, spear, and catapult.
      • The spear only attacks one person who walks past it & is something you should have set at all times, as it is not activated unless an enemy reaches it.
      • The knight attacks orcs which reach the castle wall.
      • The catapult rains fireballs down onto the screen, though it typically will not hit orcs right next to the castle wall.
      • All three power ups regenerate over time.
        • If the button is brown the power up is not available.
        • If the button is yellow the power up is available.
  • Mouse
    • Click your mouse and move it across the screen to adjust the arrow’s flight path.
    • Use the guidelines to control your shot’s aim.
    • Release to shoot.
    • Repeat the process
  • Touchscreen controls
    • Similar to mouse control.
• Strategy
  • This game is significantly harder than it appears given that it is on a flat 2D plane.
    • Your archer can not hit orcs which are close to the castle.
    • Power ups take a significant amount of time to regenerate.
    • Orcs enter the screen quickly.
    • Some orcs take multiple arrows to kill.
  • General tips
    • Immediately lay the spear trap as soon as it is available so the next one regenerates quickly.
    • Lead the orcs slightly with your shots.
    • Always kill the orcs closest to the castle first.
      • The will do damage to your castle sooner.
      • You can only shoot one arrow at a time. Shooting an arrow a shorter distance means you can shoot again sooner and there is a lower probability of missing.
    • If an orc gets near the castle immediately use the knight.
    • Try to stagger using your catapult and knight so you always have a powerful attack available or nearing availability
