Pac-Chef Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the purple play button in the bottom center of the welcome screen.
    • This will bring up the level select menu.
    • Initially only the first level is unlocked.
    • You unlock a level each time you beat a level.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your beat levels and level scores.
  • The welcome screen also has the following buttons
    • upper left: developer information & switch to full screen mode
    • upper right: sound control
    • lower left: erase progress
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use the arrow keys to move around the maze.
    • You run in whichever direction you are moving until you run into a wall or press an arrow key near an opening to change directions.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Swipe the screen in the direction you want to move.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left corner of the game shows your score and current level number.
• Game Play
  • Levels
    • The game has 6 levels.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially after you beat the prior level.
    • You beat a level when all ingredients and all coins on a level have been collected.
    • Levels have shortcut paths which allow you to exit one side of the level and re-enter the other side.
  • Dying
    • You die whenever another chef hits you (unless you recently collected an ingredient and they are in reduced state to where you can attack them).
    • You start the game with 3 lives.
    • If you lose all your lives the game is over, but when you play again you can start on any of the levels you have already unlocked with all 3 lives.
  • Power Pellets
    • Ingredients in this game are similar to power pellets in Pac-Man.
    • While you are in strong form your outfit turns green & the other chefs turn a light blue and have a flashing red light on their hat.
    • Power pellets last for 10 seconds.
  • Scoring
    • Each coin you collect is worth 10 points.
    • Each ingredient you collect is worth 50 points.
    • After eating a core ingredient you have the ability to defeat the other chefs by running into them. They are worth 50 points each & there is no score multiplier for beating multiple of them in a row on a single ingredient.
    • Your game score is cumulative across levels.

  • The game is suited for people who like maze attack games inspired by Pac-Man.
