How to Play

Press the keys to listen to the notes. Play a tune you love or have fun making your own music with this virtual piano player.

  • Starting the Game
    • Once this music application loads, it immediately shows the piano keys.
    • All you have to do is tap or select any key to listen to the sound.
    • Continuously pressing a key will sustain the sound of the note.
    • You can press keys to learn pitch, play a song, or create a melody of your own.

  • Game Controls

      • There are buttons on top of the virtual keyboard:
      • The green “?” button on the left shows the letter name of a key and it’s corresponding solfege note. For example, the key of C is Do, D is Re, and E is Mi, and so on.
      • Select the green “KEYNAME” button to see the letter name of the key’s notes. These will appear directly on top of the keys.
      • Next, “The 8th” button puts a label where the C major keys are.
        • It labels the first C on the piano as 3 because it’s the C major in the 3rd octave.
        • The next 8th note is a 4 because it’s the C major in the 4th octave.
        • Finally the last C on the piano is a 5 because it is the C major in the 5th octave.
      • The blue “About” button shows a brief background information about the piano and the game developer. It mentions the piano was invented by an Italian inventor named Bartolomeu Cristofori around 1700.
      • The “X” button at the right side of the screen does not function.
    • Mouse
      • Use your mouse cursor to left click on any key. It will play the sound right away just like a real piano.
      • If you left click a key longer, it will sustain that note as long as you press. This makes it a good tool to listen to pitch continuously.
