Quick Maths Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the operator to begin.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your high scores from every operator.
    • Your high score is shown below each of the operator buttons on the welcome screen.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click on arrows of the drop down list to increase or decrease the value of the number.
    • With your keyboard, type in the number on the selected cell.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers:
      • Tap on the arrows on the drop-down list to increase or decrease the value of the number.
      • Type in the number when the on-screen keyboard pops up.
  • Controls and indicators
    • Top row (left to right):
      • Level number
      • Timer
      • Exit button
    • Bottom center
      • Current score
• Game Play
  • Game modes
    • Four of the game modes are based on the basic operations in arithmetic:
      • Addition
      • Subtraction (called “reduction” in this game) – subtract the number on top from the number on the left
      • Multiplication
      • Division – divide the number on the left by the number on top
    • Selecting the last mode, random, draws questions from all four operations.
  • Basic rules
    • You start with a small highlighted part of the grid that occupies the top left corner.
      • On the topmost and leftmost row appear numbers.
      • Add, subtract, multiply, or divide the numbers wherever the cells intersect.
      • The cell at the top left corner indicates the operation you need to follow.
    • You can fill in the cell in the following ways:
      • While selected, use the drop-down button to add or subtract numbers.
        • Numbers can appear positive or negative.
      • Type in the number with your keyboard.
      • The number will appear red if it is incorrect.
      • Correct numbers, meanwhile appear green.
    • When all the cells are green, the game generates a new set of numbers for you to solve.
    • Fill in all the cells provided before the timer on the top center runs out.
      • As the game progresses, you gain more time.
      • The game will end if you fail to fill in all the cells with the correct answers before the timer expires.
  • Game progress
    • You start the game with only 3 active cells, only one of which you need to fill in.
    • As you play, more cells become active.
    • Keep playing until you fill out the entire grid or for as long as you can.
  • Scoring
    • Each correct answer is worth 1 point.
      • Each time you put in a wrong answer, you lose 1 point.
      • You gain back the points when you answer correctly.
    • Clearing all the available cells grants you a bonus of 10 points.
    • Your score will only be recorded if you end the game in a game over.
