- Levels are unlocked sequentially:
- You automatically start every new playthrough on the first level.
- Finishing one level automatically unlocks the next.
- Each level has as its background a painting of one of Rome’s major landmarks.
- The game has 17 levels.
- You can’t replay previously beat levels without starting the game over from the first level.
- When reloading the game, you have the following options:
- Start the game from the beginning. This will erase your previous progress.
- Start from the last level you’ve unlocked.
- Basic rules
- Select identical pairs of stones to remove them from the stack.
- Only free stones can be cleared.
- Free stones have no stone on top of them and at least one side (left or right) without an adjacent stone.
- The game helpfully highlights the free stones in a lighter background color, with other stones having a darker grayish background color.
- You can only select open stones. They turn yellow when selected.
- Clear the entire stack before the timer runs out.
- You start the first level with 3 minutes and 40 seconds on the clock.
- Later levels have more stones and a longer time limit.
- If you don’t remove all the stones before time runs out, you fail the level.
- You can opt to try again.
- Otherwise, you can quit your playthrough and save your score on the leaderboard.
- Scoring
- Your score is cumulative. It consists of every point you’ve earned from all the levels you played.
- Each stone you clear is worth 100 points.
- You also earn 3 bonus points from every second left on the timer when you beat a level.
- Hints
- Selecting the hint button will highlight an available pair anywhere on the stack.
- Hints cost 300 points, so use them sparingly.
- Target Audience
