How to Play

Starting the Game
On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
Select Help to learn about the game and its rules.
Select High Scores to view the leaderboard.
Use the gear button to open more options:
Select the music button and the speaker button to turn the game’s music and sound effects on and off.
Select Reset to clear your previous game progress.
Use the drop-down list on the bottom left corner to choose the game’s language.
Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.

Levels
Levels are unlocked sequentially:
Only the first level is playable at the start of the game.
Finish one level to unlock another. Selecting Next Level will return you to the selection screen.
You can replay any level you’ve already unlocked.
The game has 30 levels.
You can save your final score either after a game over or after finishing all the levels.
Basic rules
Select pairs of identical rune stones to remove them from the stack.
You can only select free stones.
A free stone has no stone on top of it and at least one side (left or right) that has no adjacent stone.
The game helpfully highlights the stones that are free in a lighter background color while other stones have a darker background color.
Clear out the entire stack before the timer runs out.
The first level starts with 2 minutes and 23 seconds. Each subsequent level has a shorter time limit.
If you fail to clear the entire stack before the time limit, it’s game over.
You can try the level again if you want. The game offers unlimited continues.
Otherwise, you can end your play. If you end play you can submit your score, but it also erases your game progress.
Scoring
The game has 2 scores
Your level score comprises the points you earned by playing a level.
Your total score is the sum of all your level scores for the entire playthrough.
Level Score
Each pair of runes you clear is worth 50 points.
You also receive 10 bonus points for every second remaining on the timer.
Your level scores appear below the level icons on the selection screen.
Total Score
Your total score grows each time you unlock a level.
Replaying a level will only change your total score if you manage to beat your previous record.
You can save your total score to the leaderboard through the following options:
Finish all 30 levels of the game.
End your playthrough after a game over.
Assistance
You can use hints and shuffles to help you out.
Hints highlight a pair of

Hints and shuffles cost points. Use them sparingly.
Hints cost 100 points.
Shuffles cost 500 points.
