Santas Platformer Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the PLAY button on the right side of the welcome screen to start the game.
  • Select the SELECT LEVEL button on the right side of the screen to choose a level to play.
  • Select the CHARACTERS button on the right side of the screen to change Santa’s wardrobe colors.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels, coin savings, and character unlocks.

    • Move right by pressing the right arrow key.
    • Move left by pressing the left arrow key.
    • Jump by pressing the up arrow key.
    • Double jump by pressing the up arrow key. You can jump twice in a row immediately, or jump once then wait a while and jump again.
    • You can also jump by using the mouse left click button.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • The move left and move right buttons are in the lower left corner of the screen.
    • Tap the screen once to jump & twice to double jump.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left corner of the screen has buttons for exiting the game or restarting the current level.
    • The top center of the screen shows your gem savings and how many of the 8 presents you have collected from the current stage.
    • The upper right corner of the screen has buttons for pausing the game, controlling game music, and controlling game sound.

  • Basics
    • Jump, double jump, and move from side to side across platforms throughout the levels while collecting all 8 presents on each stage.
    • Avoid running into snowmen & jump quickly on the temporary platforms with a red X underneath them.
    • Collect gems to purchase 5 other Santa Clause outfit unlocks.
  • Levels
    • This game has 16 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You win a level by collecting all 8 presents.
      • You lose a level by falling off platform or running into a snowman.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, but you must start at the beginning of a level whenever you die.
  • Tips
    • While the game’s design looks simplistic, many of the jumps have a tight clearance, requiring precise timing.
      • Watch the path of the moving platforms through a few cycles before timing your jumps onto or off of moving platforms.
      • Anticipate the platform movement and lead the platforms so that you are positioned correctly as they move.
    • Platforms with the red X on them disappear shortly after you step on them, requiring you to quickly jump off of them.
      • These platforms do not reappear during the current play, so if you fall off a higher platform and land back on the wrong side of a disappeared platform you’ll need to restart the level.
    • The gems located between platforms can be used as a guide for when to jump or double jump.
